@alicepeace In stainless steel they are very durable, they roll nicely, and, in my opinion, are worth the money.

Thinking of buying these for my boyfriend as a birthday present, he's a big D&D fan, but they're very expensive. I just want to know how durable they are, how they roll and if they're worth the money.

Days I wish I had more money, this is one of them.

Thorn dice in various finishes at shapeways HQ :)
January 17, 2013, 8:06 pm
I bought these in stainless steel for my boyfriend as a late Christmas gift. They arrived yesterday and we are both very impressed! Amazing dice!

Got my lovely new stainless steel dice. They are excellent, but I don't recommend dropping the d8 onto bare feet. Drew blood lol.

I believe Shapeways delivers to Belarus, but please confirm by sending your question to service@Shapeways.com
December 13, 2012, 10:16 am
How can I order delivery to Belarus?
December 13, 2012, 5:48 am
You should go with the antique bronze if you want them to look old. The stainless steel can sometimes have bronzey tones, but the antique bronze finish is actually very dark.
November 11, 2012, 2:56 pm
sorry for the stupid question, but wich material is better for this set, antique bronze glossy or stainless steel? i want they look great and "old", so i was thinking they were better in antique bronze, but in the photos it is not so different from stainless steel. what do you suggest me? also sorry for the bad english, i'm italian

This set has a standard d10 numbered by ones (1, 2, 3, 4...). The set with the decader includes the standard d10 as well as the decader d10 numbered by 10s (10, 20, 30, 40...). This allows the two d10s to be rolled together to produce d100 results.
September 19, 2012, 9:33 am
What is the difference between these and the ones with the decaders?
September 19, 2012, 3:37 am
I got my order delivered today, and I'm downright impressed by this set! I had originally wanted to get the one with the decader, but couldn't afford it, so I compromised and got this set. It was more than I had imagined! Had some of the polish grains in the nooks and crannies, but was able to take all that out with an X-acto knife. Can't wait to put these babies into play! As a collector of dice, this is my all-time favorite purchase!

Black strong and flexible is the dyed version of the white strong and flexible. It is made of sintered nylon. The strong and flexible materials are made of sintered nylon. Dice printed out in strong and flexible will work as decorative objects but are very light and will not work well as dice.
May 30, 2012, 2:27 am
sorry meant black strong flexible
May 29, 2012, 11:00 pm
I was wondering what the black strong detail dice were made of and how they looked.

Sorry rhapsody101 for not answering your question immediately, and thanks ghaithr for answering it. It seems Shapeways hasn't been sending notifications when I have comments on models for at least the past month. Sorry again!
May 27, 2012, 9:44 pm
rhapsody and metteomac, the difference is that the "with decader" set hat an extra d10 that has markings of 00, 10, 20, 30, etc up to 90 instead of 0 to 9. You would use the two d10s together to roll % on something.
May 27, 2012, 9:01 pm
rhapsody, i was going to ask the very same question. what is the difference?
May 27, 2012, 7:47 pm
I'm terribly sorry for the stupid question, but what is the difference between this set and the one 'with decader'?

I just received my set last night (stainless) and I have to admit these have instantly become my favorite set. I threw some test rolls (~100) last night and I did not find any apparent bias on any of the dice. I do have to say that I love the overall weight in my hand compared to my other sets. I also noticed that once I roll these dice they do not tend to have the typical bounce associated with acrylic dice, these dice hit the table and only take one maybe two hops before coming to rest with a very satisfying thump. Delivery time (12 days) was outstanding considering the level of detail on these dice and the fact that they are hand made when ordered. Wombat I will be ordering more dice to add to my collection as well as for gifts for all of my gaming friends. On a side note I would love to see the steam punk dice in a full set to use with Shadow Run as well as a Star Trek set for when we play. I'm not evil! I'm chaotic neutral!

I just got them in the mail... 18 days later. Took some time, but I know he will love then, thank you! I bought the stainless steel because I want him to have a unique set ;) the roll lovely, though i know nothing about the point of them XD Thank you very much!!! I am getting a chainmail bag for them to not onlt save them from puncturing his normal bags but also to look more fitting. thanks again! Very happy with the purchase.
December 9, 2011, 3:35 am
I just ordered them as a gift for my fiance. I hope they look as amazing in person as the image above. :)
November 21, 2011, 1:07 am
From the order date, delivery time will be 10 business days for plastic or 14 days for metal. The cutoff date for holiday orders this year is December 4.
November 10, 2011, 10:00 am
How long will these take to get to somewhere in the northwest?
November 10, 2011, 3:14 am
Again, many thanks!
November 7, 2011, 4:20 am
The plain stainless have a grittier, more antiqued look than the other finishes.
November 7, 2011, 3:18 am
Ok, thank you! Also, which one would look the most "battle used" in your opinion?
November 7, 2011, 12:02 am
The bronze is a patina, the gold is electroplated (I think). Information about the finishes is at http://www.shapeways.com/materials/stainless_steel_finishes I have dice with a bronze finish, and they do not show wear from being in a bag with other dice yet (and I have had them for about a year). I have no experience with the gold finish.
November 6, 2011, 12:49 am
So, if I were to get the bronze or gold ones, what makes it those colors? Like, what material? I don't want any of it scraping or flaking off.
November 6, 2011, 12:05 am
Hmmm, I'm stumped as to why your computer won't display the picture.
October 20, 2011, 9:08 am
thanks. did all that. still doesnt work.
October 20, 2011, 2:33 am
If you use Firefox, go to Tools>Clear Recent History, select Cache, and click Clear Now. If that doesn't help, try updating Java or using a different browser.
October 19, 2011, 8:00 pm
okay Im new at this, whats a cache? and how do I clear it?
October 19, 2011, 4:49 pm
I have a cloth dice bag and I haven't noticed any damage to it. They are pokey but not tremendously sharp.
October 14, 2011, 12:29 am
How does the dice bag hold up to these, I have a pretty nice Buffalo leather bag and would prefer for it to remain intact.
October 13, 2011, 7:01 pm
Try clearing the cache on your browser. Shapeways made a few changes to their site and it does not seem to play well with all browsers yet.
October 9, 2011, 8:00 pm
so is anyone else having a problem seeing the pictures? I click on it but cant see anything.

I just got these, I'm in the US, and holy schlamoly are they awesome! I got the stainless steel ones. Very, very impressive. Weighty, pointy, they seem to be very well balanced, and overall an incredibly impressive package all-around. Many, many thanks!
October 3, 2011, 7:10 pm
I have not had any packages from Shapeways held for customs fees, but I know other people have reported on the forums that they have had packages held. If it ships from Shapeways' new US distribution hub, it shouldn't be a problem.
September 16, 2011, 1:05 am
I have a question about shipping...I am located in the US. Will my package be held for customs fees?
September 16, 2011, 12:43 am
This set is slightly larger than standard dice. They are not available in larger sizes.
August 28, 2011, 5:08 pm
I assume these are standard 16mm size. Can you get a large 35mm size and get individual die (d20)instead of a set? Pricing?
August 28, 2011, 4:08 pm
In the white polished, I think they look better in the picture of the white polished
August 20, 2011, 1:21 am
Did you order them in stainless steel or in one of the plastic materials? The photo above is of the set in stainless steel.
August 20, 2011, 12:09 am
Kind of disappointed to be honest, picture is really deceptive as to how these look. Wish refunds were available.
August 19, 2011, 10:19 pm
Ooh, ok, thanks!
July 6, 2011, 10:36 am
No, there is not an image in the indigo, but there are pictures of the dice in various other Strong and Flexible colors at http://www.dicecollector.com/THE_DICE_THEME_SHAPEWAYS.html
July 6, 2011, 3:18 am
Is there an image of the Indigo?
July 6, 2011, 12:07 am
Nope, the frosted detail is plastic.
June 25, 2011, 3:32 am
Is the frosted detail metal?
June 25, 2011, 12:00 am
Yes. I haven't noticed a bias in them, and I use them every week.
April 13, 2011, 1:16 am
Are these dice balanced?
April 12, 2011, 11:35 pm
The bronze finish dice are stainless steel with a bronze patina.
April 1, 2011, 4:10 pm
Are the Bronze finish dice actually made of plastic, or metal? (They look awesome either way!)
April 1, 2011, 4:02 pm
I'm drolling by just imagining these in metal...
December 14, 2010, 5:43 am
