Following the development of the T-10 (the Rhunnish version of the KV-1, not the Soviet T-10) into the T-12 by means of a vastly improved drive train, the discovery was made that in combat against other heavy tanks, the 75-mm cannon was completely useless. Therefore, the T-12 was armed with an improved turret and 90-mm "tank destroyer" cannon, which had been encountered before and had proved quite a threat to even heavy tanks. Ironic, the weapon that was used to destroy the T-10 became the main weapon of its successor. The 15-mm ball-mounted machine gun in the rear of the turret was done away with in favour of a co-axial 35-mm autocannon for use against smaller vehicles without wasting the 90-mm shells.
