About this Product

This is the best repair job I've been able to do on this. The main hull now measures 14.7mm in diameter. This is as small as I dare take this. I had to remove several details from the legs, and let the Nettfabb Studio Basic do the repair work. The legs are now just barely in the limits of WSF material. This was one of the hardest models we @TheVerse have. It pushed every limit and pushed back. This is one super nice model. This is 1/1000 scale, allowing you to put it, the Moonbus, the Orion space plane and one of our Discovery One models all on a display stand. Scifi fans of this movie will wonder where you got them.

This is now hollow and has much thicker legs. Because ShapeWays was "AFRAID" it might break in the future.

Meanwhile I finished the complete model around the ARIES miniature: The landing pad and the surrounding area next to the CLAVIUS moonbase.

@Callamon WOW! I can not believe what you have managed to do with this model. It's beyond perfect. What you have done is absolutely amazing.

Meanwhile I was able to paint and weather the one I got printed in FUD. Here is a picture with a Euro Cent as a size comparison.

After ShapeWays personal rejecting this on "FEAR" it would break. I had little choice but to go back and get help to get the legs fixed beyond their "FEARS". I may use this to fix the Aries 7K as well.

I just got that little gem in WSF and in FUD. The detail on both is AMAZING (of course the FUD one is a lot sharper than the WSF one)! WSF will be fine to handle, although the legs are pretty thin (they look much thinner than in the 3D rendering!) they are sturdy enough to take some stress. FUD should be handled VERY carefully, because it is so brittle. The legs are strong enough to hold the model upright, too, but don't touch it too hard. The FUD one is perfect for displaying it in a touch-safe environment.
