Ok folks due to some issues that have happened lately. And due to some new "guidelines" from ShapeWays. I sat down and went over this model with a very good 3D modeler and friend, to do some repairs to the details and really attempt to make this the best model this could be.

The pod bay doors are now down in the command module by 1mm, with raised door details that are correct. The command module now has bars showing the windows, so now they can be detailed better. The side entry hatch is now also down in the command module, instead of sitting on the surface. All these new details go along with the corrections I did to the AE-35 Antenna complex that everyone wanted. And the smoothed out command module that I did.

Sadly however one side effect. ShapeWays new guidelines for escape holes on hollow models now requires that where a single escape hole is used, that it be 4mm in diameter. That means you are going to make a plug for the holes, before being able to mount it. This model is 1/1000 scale. Using the side entry hatch on the port side as a base line for scaling. I hope these new changes are what everyone wanted.

This prints fine.

@mburkey Thank You for the kind thoughts. I really have been trying to make this special. I am glad that this generation has pleased you. That is all I can hope for. I had to get some special help from a good friend of mine to finish up what I couldn't. I truly wish the escape holes didn't have to be so big. But ShapeWays is calling the shots. Atleast the started packing and shipping it better. That makes me very happy. I eagerly await your pic's.

I've got at least 4 of these, and I know that Mech has gone through at least 3 generations of upgrades. With the new command module detail, this is easily the best. Shapeways finally started packing these right and not breaking them. I ordered FD, it arrived with a little schmutz on it but pretty easily sanded and primed off. The larger evacuation holes required for this detail will require a little effort to fill for the scale modelers out there, but the result is an amazing replica, and Mech's price is right, which I can't say for every designer here. I hate to post primer pictures, but I'll send some when it's done. Highly recommended.

@siddharta60 I thought you should see that your efforts haven't been ignored. This new design is a direct result of what happened to you. I hope you can see fit to give my shop another chance.

@siddharta60 Turns out from the numbers you gave me, it is. As a result I am shutting down FD & FUD materials for this model until we can contact ShapeWays about them sending out bad production models to people. This makes me and my 2 friends here @TheVerse look bad, and we are going to have to find out what is going on and why. Please accept my sincere apologies for this. Thank you however for bringing this to our attention. I personally will keep you informed of what we find out.

After investigation, it turned out that the model I received WAS NOT made by Mechanoid !!!!!

@siddharta60 I have posted the renders that I sent you. So everyone can see the details are there. Something happened during printing that I have no control over. I am very concerned about what happened to you. Maybe you should contact the Service Team and see if they can find a way to print you a replacement. Because the Pod Bay Doors are there. They are a bit deeper and the ring more defined.
