do you plan to make other rings/ jewelry like this? a mars ring would be pretty cool

Hi @EduardoMelo, color is a bit difficult to define… The rings contain a varing percentage of Bronze, so some pieces are more yellow than others. Also, the photo on the top was taken close to sunset, thus the golden look… Yes Shapeways ships worldwide. Here the material details:

@EduardoMelo To my eye, it looks more gold color.

Hi, a i have two questions: the color of the ring is like silver, grey or yellow like the photos ? (the color of the ring in the photographs make me confuse) in the photo take by @CraftGeek the color is like silver. The second question is: you send to Brazil ? thanks for the attention.

It must feel like wearing a piece of the moon on your finger!
November 22, 2013, 9:01 pm
@HerrH @CraftGeek The rings on the photo are plain Stainless Steel.
November 9, 2013, 7:42 pm
@HerrH At the time I ordered it, the only choice was Stainless Steel. This was before there were more that one type available. I think the closest thing now would be Raw Metal. Mine came polished. I think un-polished may show more detail. @cunicode Is that right?
November 5, 2013, 3:01 am
@CraftGeek Which material and finish did you choose?
November 4, 2013, 12:11 pm
Not only does this ring look awesome but is is very comfortable too.
October 30, 2013, 6:29 pm
@CraftGeek I'd say Stainless Steel, because gold plated has a layer on top of the printed texture, thus reducing the detail.
October 2, 2013, 11:22 pm
@cunicode So, does the stainless steel show the fine detail better or does the gold plate show it better?
October 2, 2013, 7:50 pm
@CraftGeek Hi, the rings on the photos were printed in plain Stainless Steel. The dark color is because Stainless Steel prints are infused with 30% Bronze.

@cunicode Thanks for trying the inner text. So, one last question before I order: Of the materials that you offer, which one shows off the fine details of this design the best? Thanks, Sean

@cdeville soon... :)
September 29, 2013, 8:43 pm
@CraftGeek @cdville I tried to print small words inside another ring and it didn't came as sharp as I'd like :( The minimum viewable size for a text is around 2mm tall... too big to fit the crater's names.
September 29, 2013, 8:41 pm
@cunicode Please print this in cheese next. :D
September 29, 2013, 4:11 pm
@CraftGeek Yes I'd love to know too, even though I just bought this ring :D
September 29, 2013, 4:11 pm
@cunicode Have you had a chance to see if the names can be printed on the inside yet?
September 5, 2013, 1:36 am
@MoonMinute @cunicode Brilliant, beautiful, clever idea -- bought one the moment I saw it. I think we need to talk about making this the official ring for the 50,000+ members of the Luna Society -
August 30, 2013, 4:35 am
Great idea!
August 18, 2013, 9:59 am
@CraftGeek Good suggestion. I'll share the results if it prints nicely.
August 16, 2013, 5:01 am
@cunicode "cunicode says: Great idea! I'll make some tests, but I'm afraid the detail of Stainless Steel prints isn't accurate enough to correctly show very small letters :( " Could you print only the names of the largest craters on the inner surface of the ring? The names could be placed directly under the crater they name so they could be easily identified.

Hi @Arishav The ring in the photos is Stainless Steel, which normally looks quite dark because it is infused with Bronze / Also, the photo was taken during sunset :) I'm sorry for size 14... I'll add it later on.
August 12, 2013, 3:07 am
And don't you have it in size 14? :/
August 11, 2013, 10:01 pm
Do you mind telling the finishing of the ring in the first photo from left to right and also the one in the second photo from right to left?
August 10, 2013, 7:51 pm
@cdeville Great idea! I'll make some tests, but I'm afraid the detail of Stainless Steel prints isn't accurate enough to correctly show very small letters :(

I love this so much! I was wondering if you had names of the craters and valleys that show up in the ring "slice." That would be so cool!
July 18, 2013, 3:32 pm
@duann Thanks for the mention!
July 16, 2013, 3:38 pm
Love this, I just featured it on the Shapeways Blog.

Thank you @joabaldwin !
