Hey guys, I ordered a Guy & Thomas pendant last week. Hope to have them arrive mid March. My plan is to have them professionally plated with Silver (Thomas) and Gold (Guy) by a jeweler. Question: Anyone have an idea of what the jeweler could do for the black parts of the pendant? I was thinking a thin piece of onyx, if that's even feasible... Any thoughts, tips, or ideas for my project are welcome.

@Arcys1 Unfortunately that's not a service I provide. These are completely manufactured and shipped by shapeways, I simply designed the 3D model.

Just got my Daft Punk Thomas pendant (the older version) which i have sanded down and added a black paint to it aswell. Would definitely recommend sanding it down, i went from 300 grit down to 600 0r 700. totally worth it!

@Darkdoodlez you can select your country in the shopping cart and it will give you an estimate for when it will be shipped. Says May 17th to me when I put in Germany. How long it will actually take to ship I can't say. Shapeways takes care of the manufacturing and shipping, all I do is give them the rights to print my design.
April 25, 2013, 3:47 am
ok, then i think you got one new customer :) how many days would it take to ship one to germany?
April 24, 2013, 8:54 pm
@Darkdoodlez The problem with making it black is that they would have to be redesigned as two seperate pieces, one stainless and one black ceramic or pkastic that would have to be bought individually and then glues together by you. According to shapeways' material guides the only way I can do that will leave one of the two pieces too thin and prone to breaking during production, something I dont want to risk. my only suggestion is once you get them, get a fire paintbrush and carefully paint the parts black. The ones I ordered for myself are still in production and are due to ship may 8th, once I get them I will upload pictures, just be aware they are going to be the incorrectly shaped isosceles version, not the newly updated equilateral ones. But it should still be enough to get an idea of what they'll be like

Is there any way, that you can make the cut out parts black, like they are here? I just need to see a real photo and i´ll buy one :)
April 24, 2013, 9:30 am
@stefanosg much too kind of you, I'm actually uploading the new versions now.
April 24, 2013, 5:35 am
@SkipMonkey ok awesome! i already bought these ones but once you update the design ill be buying another one. cheers
April 24, 2013, 4:59 am
@stefanosg yes, they looked isosceles in the pictures I were looking at but in some other's I've seen they are in fact equilateral. will update it when I get the chance
April 24, 2013, 4:20 am
THIS IS AWESOME! but could you make it an equilateral triangle??
April 22, 2013, 11:27 am
