About this Product

Miniature diorama Mash-up of M. C. Escher's "Relativity" with Crash Test Dummies. Buy  "Relativity Crash Mash" for $30. This piece adds even more surrealism and a bit of the absurd by adding Crash Dummies to Escher's classic lithograph where upside-down stairs abound. This design pushes the new full color 3D printing technology to new limits. The complexity of the scene and the level of detail found in the images in this diorama make this a unique and one of a kind artwork. These characteristics are not possible with mass produced works, and have not yet been seen in 3D printed diorama art.

This miniature diorama is about 1 3/4 inches high.   I have included a high resolution computer rendering of the design in the preview pictures. You can see from the photographs of the actual piece that I have stretched the limits of the 3D color printing technology.

Why not display this in a nice Acrylic case as shown in one of the photos. This is about 2 inches high. This Display Case is on Amazon in the USA for around $3 including shipping.

You can also get the display case on Amazon in the UK

Take a look at  M. C. Escher's "Relativity" lithograph to compare it with my "Relativity Crash Mash".

Inspiration for the Crash Test Dummies came from the two comical talking Crash Test Dummies named Vince and Larry that appeared in public service announcements for seat belt safety in the 1980s. Check out this image with Vince and Larry.

NOTE: The rotating 3D preview displayed with the pictures of the model is incorrect. The brick images incorrectly cover most of the model. This is a problem that Shapeways is aware of and is currently working on. Please ignore this view of the model.

Escher in 3D! Wow. It's a real mind twister and I get lost in the staircases that seem to go on and on.
