Gold Plated Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel which is Infused with bronze, then cured and as a final step your model is lowered into and submerged in a gold bath.

We recommend using it for quite detailed and strong objects where the properties of metal come in handy or are aesthetic. Objects will be quite smooth, though small printing lines remain visible. Color is yellow gold throughout and quite bright.

Pricing

In our new price structure for Gold Plated Stainless Steel we are introducing a non-linear pricing plan whereby the larger the volume, the better the rate. Larger models are comparatively cheaper for us to produce so we would like to pass on that saving and encourage users create models of greater volume

This means:

if your product is upto and including 1cm³, your product will cost $20.00
a 2cm³ prorduct will cost $31 ($20 + 1 x $11)
a 5cm³ product will cost $64 ($20 + 4 x $11)
a 11cm3 product will cost $123 ($20 + 4 x $11 + 5 x $10 + 1 x $9)

Gold Plated Stainless Steel has the same design rules as the ones for Stainless Steel 3D printing, with the exception of the maximum size (31 x 26 x 20 cm). Once 3D printed, the outer layer is firmly coated in gold. In order for us to do this there has to be some kind of eyelet that we can use to hang the model from so we can lower it into the gold bath. Furthermore the model must be able to sink in the gold bath so enclosed spaces that make it float are not permitted, e.g. a marble would not work.
