Z-Corp superior with ZCorp ZPrinter 650
Full Color Sandstone is made with the latest Z-corp printer with the highest available resolution of:650 x 540 DPI. The material itself is gypsum based, extremely rigid, very hard and colors do not bleed. Obviously it feels a bit like sandstone. We will finish it with cyanoacrylate (CA), a technique which makes your model durable and keeps the colors vivid. Please keep in mind that Full Color Sandstone is brittle so be careful with your prints.
More appropriate for larger models (greater than 15cm³).

Available colors
Specifications and pricing for both Full Color Sandstone and Sandstone are equal. You need to upload a VRML97 or VRML2 file with a texture map in one ZIP file. If the file contains color information we will print your design in Full Color Sandstone. If the file has no color information we will print it in natural Sandstone. If you want to see the posibilities of the material yourself you might want to order this sample. More information on uploading for Full Color Sandstone you will find here. Please, note, we currently do NOT support OBJ files with textures.
Your Sandstone products are printed with clear binder and dipped in cyanoacrylate (CA) based formula that seals in the color and gives the strength to the product.
The Sandstone products do not have a wax finish so it is perfect for post processing.

Word of caution: water will fade the colors

One thing to call out, our full color creations do not play well with water. The colors used is similar to Inkjet Printer coloring, which fades when wet. The same principles apply. Check out this photo. The original color was a sky blue (as represented in the lower right of the photo), after we dipped the model in water the blue faded and whitened. |
