Alumide
Alumide is White, Strong & Flexible with Aluminum dust mixed in. It is made using the Selective Laser Sintering process. The material has a higher heat resistance than regular plastics. Its melting temperature is above 172 Celsius It costs $1.99 per cubic centimeter (plus $1.50 start up costs per model). We also offer a Polished Alumide, which is significantly smoother and feels more metallic against the skin. Polished Alumide will sell at $1.50 handling fee plus $2.25 per cubic centimeter.
Until May 18th, we will offer Alumide at a special price of $1.75/cm3, and Polished Alumide at $2.00/cm3. Both materials will still have a handling fee of $1.50.
The surface is smoother than White, Strong & Flexible (WSF) and is a matte grey with speckles of shiny aluminum dust thrown in.
Please note: the design rules are different from our WSF material, in particular the minimum wallthickness and the minimum detail information are different.

Polished Alumide
We will also be offering Polished Alumide, which gives this futuristic material a smoother feel. Polished Alumide also has a more metallic feel, making it ideal for jewelry. Check out some amazing designs available in Polished Alumide!
