Cryptex style puzzle box, inspired by the novel The Da Vinci Code. Textured to resemble marble, the lettering is also printed, rather then engraved. Comes fully assembled.

If you'd like to purchase your own, the password can be between 3 and 6 letters. Different length passwords will effect the pricing, as more or less material is used. Note the price shown is for a 6 letter cryptex.

Note: To facilitate assembled printing, the code cannot be changed after purchase.

Geared 5x5x5 is a higher-order variation to the Gear Cube. A set of gears make an inner layer turn at half the speed of an outer layer. This way, the outer layers can only be turned by 180 degrees. The gearing ration is 4:40, so the puzzle always retains it cubic shape, and the edge gears can only be flipped by 180 degrees. Still, the puzzle is fiendishly difficult.

This is my version of the Master FTO originally designed by Timur. For a detailed writeup on the history of this puzzle and a full review visit the topic at twistypuzzles.com: http://twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=21983.

This puzzle is based on my Dino Skewb, but has an extra shell required to attach the corner pieces. It moves quite well and is entirely stable.

Buying this model will get you all the plastic parts required to build a Master FTO. You will need to provide your own screws and stickers to finish the puzzle. Alternatively, fully assembled and stickered puzzles are available from me for a small additional fee at tom@tomvanderzanden.nl.

This is a Skewb with two-fold stretched "face square" (aka Offset Skewb) and with four additional dino-cuts. Like a Master Skewb, it has 3x3x3x3 cuts system, but each one cutting layer of a pair is moved so it cuts vertices, thus reducing the number of elements and making the puzzle much easier to solve.
On each face one can see a Cyrillic letter Ф (or Greek Phi) which is read as F, that's why I named it F-Skewb.

Puzzle edge size: 57mm. Additional parts required: 4x M3x6 DIN 912 screws.

This is a 3D printed version of my Ghost Cube, a 3x3x3 mod that solves by shape instead of color, and is meant to be as confusing as possible.

This version has a newly designed core that allows the puzzle to be easily assembled from just the printed parts, without needing to use any screws or springs. The puzzle turns very well, even with nothing but printed parts. The puzzle is a bit tight to assemble, and may "squeak" a bit (due to the print lines) when turned until the parts are broken in, but very quickly turns great!

Think outside the box!

GeomBlocks T/O is a modular construction set for building shapes in tetrahedral / octahedral geometry.

One way to tile space is with cubes. But that's not the only way. Regular tetrahedra and octahedra also tile space, in an alternating honeycomb pattern. (They can also build larger copies of themselves!)

In GeomBlocks T/O, the tetrahedra have connectors that plug into the octahedra -- and half octahedra, which also turn out to be useful.

This basic set consists of 18 each of half octahedra and two-connector tetrahedra, and 4 each of octahedra, one-, three-, and four-connector tetrahedra. The unit edge length is 20mm.

Use GeomBlocks to explore the mathematics of tessellations, build geometric sculpture, or design puzzles outside the same old cubic landscape. (Complex puzzles might require multiple sets. Some of the photos show multiple sets in multiple colors.)

Fracture-6 is a "bandaged" puzzle with three axes of rotation, based on the geometry of the triangular dipyramid. The three axes are located at each four-sided vertex. Every axis is capable of turning in 90 degree increments, but only when all four edges around that axis are pointing in the same direction. If the edges are not properly aligned the axis will be limited to 180 degree turns. This bandaging makes Fracture-6 very difficult to solve.

Fracture-6 comes as a DIY kit of parts, and you will need to supply your own stickers. The templates for the stickers are available in the instructions forum.

I recommend that unless you are familiar with the process of dyeing these parts, you purchase the puzzle in "Black Strong & Flexible". It costs a bit more than the white material, but it's worth it since the finished puzzle will look and work better. Fracture-6 also requires screws and springs to assemble. These can be purchased through a few different online puzzle sellers. The ones I used came from this shop. You'll need three screws and three springs.

Have fun!

Rubik's Cube and the 14-15 sliding square puzzle are the most popular mechanical puzzles of the 20th and 19th century, respectively. What could be more obvious than combining those two ideas and have a sliding piece puzzle on the faces of a (2x2x2) Rubik's Cube? Here you see the result. The object is to scramble the puzzle and then to twist & slide the tiles back to their original position and orientation.

Icosaix is a face-turning icosahedron twisty puzzle. Previous versions by Jason Smith and Bob Hearn worked well, but showed many tiny pieces at the outside. This version shows big, solid triangles at the outside. Some faces go over other faces while turning. Such overhang was first suggested by Jared B. McComb in 2009 on the Twisty Puzzles Forum.

Roll a Ball on Plastic Rails Inside a 3D Cube. Reach the Exit to Solve the Maze Puzzle. Rolling Ball Maze Puzzle & Brain Game for Kids, teens & Adults.

New 3D Rolling Ball Maze Puzzle. Roll the ball inside a Plastic 3D maze cube to the exit to solve the puzzle. New 2011 brain toy game. A Work of Art.

Color and material options are in the "Select Material" drop-down list on the right. If you want an option not shown or would like a quantity discount, please click on the "Contact Designer" button to write me an email.

This pack includes the mazes listed below. Each maze includes it’s own ball.

Floating Labyrinth - The ball appears to float through an intricately connected matrix. What appears to be open paths are mysteriously blocked in this 6x6x6 maze. The dimensions of this maze are 31mm by 31mm by 31mm and the ball is 8mm in diameter.

Zig Zag Zog - You will learn to zig zag in three dimensions to solve this 5x5x5 maze, but watch out for the pitfalls! The dimensions of this maze are 24mm by 24mm by 24mm and the ball is 7mm in diameter.

Start by pushing the ball into the spring loaded entrance ( it looks like a backwards “J”). Tip the maze in different directions to roll the ball along the paths through the maze. Don’t worry, if you make a wrong turn, the ball will not fall out of the maze. If the ball runs into a dead-end you can just roll the ball back the opposite way and try another path, that’s all part of this fun brain game. When you reach the exit there is a spring loaded button to press to release the ball from the maze. The exit is in a corner of the 3D maze, where you will find a bar with the little button sticking out from the side of the maze.

Each maze game come with the ball attached by a little chain link cage for shipping. This needs to be cut off and cut open with scissors and the ball will fall out. Note that each larger size maze comes with a larger ball. The balls can quickly and easily be colored with a highlighter or marker. Let the ball dry for a minute after applying then roll between clean white paper to remove excess color so it does not rub off on the maze. Paint for plastic models can also be used. The orange, green and black balls in the pictures were colored with highlighters or markers. Coloring the ball makes it easier to track in the Labyrinth maze.

See for yourself how Ethereal Maze Puzzles take maze puzzles to a whole new level of challenge and fun. With their convoluted lattice structure they can also be enjoyed as captivating and intriguing sculptural works of art.

Big Chop is a twisty puzzle like Rubik's Cube. It was named by Bram Cohen. The object of the puzzle is tor scramble the 120 pieces and try to turn them back. Twisty puzzle fans will be horrified to learn about the mechanism. There is a steel ball inside and all pieces have magnets that hold them around the ball. There is also a pedestal to support the puzzle. A special tool is needed to turn the puzzle.

After seeing my Gear Cube, several people have suggested to me to build gears into a Megaminx. Such suggestions have been done both privately and publicly. While just saying "hey, build a geared Megaminx" may be easy, there is a fundamental question to the design: how many edges should have a gears

It is important to understand that not all edges can have gears. If more than 12 of the 30 edges have gears, then some parts of the puzzle can never move. This would make those parts non functional. Even with fewer edge gears, there will be situations that some turns are blocked. This is similar to a bandaged cube, like the Bicube. Total prevention of blocking would require zero or at maximum one gear. However that would not be much more fun, compared to a classic Megaminx. I chose to have the golden mean of six gears, as that number can be symmetrically spread over the edges of a dodecahedron.

My fourth 4x4x4 cube puzzle design is 4cm wide, with four pieces and a unique solution that includes rotation (hence the punny name).

This is a brand new concept for me. Cost-conscious, as ever, I have tried to create a puzzle cube consisting of hollow cubelets. To make the shapes more interesting I have designed my basic Curly Corner Cube in TopMod and then constructed the puzzle pieces from alternating left- and right-handed unit cubes in Blender.
This means it is possible to create a much larger puzzle without it being too expensive.

Another innovation of the design is the flexibility of the cube pieces (when printed in White Strong & Flexible material). The springiness of the Curly Corner Cube shape means that the puzzle pieces should always fit snugly together without being too loose or too tight.

Fairly Twisted is a twisty puzzle that defies all rules. It has seven turning faces, eleven edges and seventeen corners. It has some local five-, four- and threefold symmetries, but the puzzle as a whole has no symmetry whatsoever. The size (volume) of this puzzle is the same as a 6x6x6 cm Rubik's Cube.

The Tetrahedral Twins could be viewed as a combination of two of Okamoto's Master Pyraminxes. It has the shape of a stellated octahedron (stella octangula). I think it illustrates some things about the symmetry of a tetrahedron nicely. The puzzle is 10cm on an edge so it is around the same size as a regular pyraminx.

I'm very satisfied with how it came out. The turning is nice and fluid, the mechanism is very stable: even when I unscrewed 3/4 screws it would not come apart.
The puzzle is a bit unwieldy to hold due to its shape. The turning is good and without problem but playing with it will take some getting used to. The only flaw is that when halfway through one of the deep cut turns, certain pieces can wiggle a bit.

Ordering this will get you a DIY kit of pieces which you will need to assemble and sticker yourself. The puzzle is available in both white and black plastic but ordering the white parts and dying them yourself is a bit more economical. I can also offer you a fully assembled, dyed and stickered version of this puzzle for a small additional fee. Contact me directly for this service.

This is the latest version of my 4x4x2. It is a fully functional corectly propotional 4x4x2 cuboid Compared to previous versions so is this puzzle much smoother and stable. In other words, more usable. In order to assemble a 4x4x2 you need a 24mm eastsheen 2x2. You remove the corners from the 2x2 and glue the centers of the 442 in their place. You should leave two centers out until you've assembled 3/4 of it. If you feel unsure about the assembling, send me a message and I'll see what I can do. Geary Cube is a Rubik's Cube with gears inside. This way, opposite sides always turn in opposite direction.

As a result, the cube always displays nice symmetrical patterns. Although easier than the original Rubik's Cube, it will still take quite some thinking to solve this one. Transparent objet is the material of choice for this puzzle, so you can see the gears inside. The puzzle is an idea of Bram Cohen, worked out in 3D by Oskar van Deventer. See this YouTube clip. The prototype on the photos was made by George Miller, using a combination of white FDM and transparent object, the latter from Shapeways.

Pentastick is based on an idea by David Pitcher, posted at the Twisty Puzzles Forum, and enhanced by Eitan Cher, Anthony Villaveiran and Carl Hoff. Conventional twisty puzzles have all turning axes going through a single origin. Not for this puzzle, which has two origins. Each half of the puzzle alone plays like a simplified version of the Pentagonal Prism. However, as the two halves exchange pieces, the puzzle as a whole is much harder.

Futtminx is a tribute to the brilliant Tuttminx design by Lee Tutt, and mass produced by Leslie Lee / VeryPuzzle. The hexagonal faces of the original Tuttminx can only be turned by multiples of 120 degrees. If one tries to makes 60-degrees turns with the Tuttminx, then adjacent turns are blocked. It is not possible to fully unbandage Tuttminx into a doctrinaire puzzle, as Tuttminx is arguably a puzzle that jumbles.

"Futtminx" stands for "Fudged Tuttminx". The corners are fudged into threefold symmetry, where all edges are fudged and made identical. The puzzle has a lot of gaps between the pieces as a result of the fudging. Also, the pieces shift a bit during a turn to make all turns possible, including 60-degrees hexagon turns.
