This must surely be the smallest commercially available 3D puzzle cube in the world.
It is a tiny 7.5 mm across and presents a real challenge to solve and take apart - and not just because of its size.
It is an example of a sequentially interlocking cube which means that it won't fall apart once the pieces are slotted together.

You can find many more interlocking puzzle cubes in the microcubology shop.

The puzzle was inspired by the cover of Elbow's brilliant album, The Seldom Seen Kid.

Roll a Ball on Plastic Rails Inside a 3D Cube. Reach the Exit to Solve the Maze Puzzle. Rolling Ball Maze Puzzle & Brain Game for Kids, teens & Adults.

New 3D Rolling Ball Maze Puzzle. Roll the ball inside a Plastic 3D maze cube to the exit to solve the puzzle. New 2011 brain toy game. A Work of Art.

Color and material options are in the "Select Material" drop-down list on the right. If you want an option not shown or would like a quantity discount, please click on the "Contact Designer" button to write me an email. This pack includes the mazes listed below. Each maze includes it’s own ball.

Escher’s Playground - Reminiscent of the upside-down staircase paintings by Escher, this 7x7x7 maze will soon have you forgetting which way is up and down. The dimensions of this maze are 40mm by 40mm by 40mm and the ball is 9mm in diameter.

Floating Labyrinth - The ball appears to float through an intricately connected matrix. What appears to be open paths are mysteriously blocked in this 6x6x6 maze. The dimensions of this maze are 31mm by 31mm by 31mm and the ball is 8mm in diameter.

Zig Zag Zog - You will learn to zig zag in three dimensions to solve this 5x5x5 maze, but watch out for the pitfalls! The dimensions of this maze are 24mm by 24mm by 24mm and the ball is 7mm in diameter.

Start by pushing the ball into the spring loaded entrance ( it looks like a backwards “J”). Tip the maze in different directions to roll the ball along the paths through the maze. Don’t worry, if you make a wrong turn, the ball will not fall out of the maze. If the ball runs into a dead-end you can just roll the ball back the opposite way and try another path, that’s all part of this fun brain game. When you reach the exit there is a spring loaded button to press to release the ball from the maze. The exit is in a corner of the 3D maze, where you will find a bar with the little button sticking out from the side of the maze.

Each maze game come with the ball attached by a little chain link cage for shipping. This needs to be cut off and cut open with scissors and the ball will fall out. Note that each larger size maze comes with a larger ball. The balls can quickly and easily be colored with a highlighter or marker. Let the ball dry for a minute after applying then roll between clean white paper to remove excess color so it does not rub off on the maze. Paint for plastic models can also be used. The orange, green and black balls in the pictures were colored with highlighters or markers. Coloring the ball makes it easier to track in the Labyrinth maze.

See for yourself how Ethereal Maze Puzzles take maze puzzles to a whole new level of challenge and fun. With their convoluted lattice structure they can also be enjoyed as captivating and intriguing sculptural works of art.

This cube really is something quite special.

About a year ago, after seeing the Transformers movie, I was inspired, by the behaviour of the alien technology in the AllSpark cube, to try and design a puzzle that could expand equally in all directions. To make things even harder, I wanted each piece to be locked in place by the preceding move.

After many prototypes I finally succeeded in creating this unique sculpture consisting of six parts.

The first stage in solving the puzzle involves discovering how the pieces fit together in the expanded configuration. (One of these moves includes a rotation, which makes it much harder to crack by computer!)

The second stage is to collapse the expanded cube down to the smaller cube by pressing each of the faces in the correct sequence.

The name of the puzzle comes from a (now obsolete) alternative to the Big Bang Theory proposed by Fred Hoyle. I like the fact that from its expanded, steady state the cube can either collapse inwards or explode outwards.

It arrived in WSF, and it works for real :-)
Gear system based on hypotrochoid shapes.
It is printed as a 9 piece puzzle, a VERY frustrating one at that ;-)

Depending on the print batch, it might need some minor sanding to make it run properly.

Steel available on request, still untested by me.
I think steel will work but probably needs some more sanding to make it fit.
With the new pricing scheme, the steel version is no longer available.
If you want one in steel, please send me a message and we will find a way.

Inspired by the logo on the cover of Elbow's album, The Seldom Seen Kid, this interlocking 3-piece puzzle is not as easy as it looks. Unlike all my other cubes, which were created in Burr Tools, this puzzle was modelled by hand to give every one of the cubes a bevelled edge. This not only makes it look more like the Elbow logo, it also makes the puzzle even trickier to take apart.

This fully working 12mm 3x3x3 Cube is nearly five times smaller than the original Rubik's Cube - it is far smaller than just a single cubelet of its big brother. It is printed in one piece, without the need for assembly. A thin layer of wax keeps the parts separated during printing, which is then melted away to yield this fully functional Rubik's Cube.

IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE BUYING
Since Shapeways' can not remove all of the wax themselves, you will probably have to do some work to get your print to turn. You should boil some water and put it in a cup along with your cube. Leave it in there for a few moments, and stir to help speed up the wax removal. Then remove from the cup with a teaspoon, and (being careful not to get burns from the water) gently move one or more sides. You may need to put the cube back in to the water to melt more wax and continue this process untill all of the pieces are freed up. You may also need to use a small knife to help separate some pieces. Note that if the wax cools down, the puzzle may become more difficult to move.
Since the heat also softens the puzzle plastic, it is very delicate when warm. You should take extreme caution while removing the excess wax. Neither Shapeways or me can take responsibility if your puzzle breaks during this process. It might therefore be recommendable to order more than one copy of this puzzle.
It might make things a lot easier if you put soap in the water, that might help dissolve the wax. I haven't tested it myself but it sounds promising.

Looking to buy a very special custom 3D printed puzzle, but can't afford the big boys? Then this one is for you. Thanks to my new redesign of this puzzle, it is cheaper than ever. Only $25! I've taken great care in the design of this puzzle and it is the highest quality 1x2x3 cuboid out there.

The 1x2x3 is one of the easiest twisty puzzles out there. With just 48 possible positions, anyone can solve this novelty puzzle and claim they solved a Rubik's Cube(-like) puzzle. This puzzle comes as a DIY kit. You'll need a M3 screw and washer to assemble it, and need to supply your own stickers (or get creative) to colour the faces. You can buy pre-made stickers from www.cubesmith.com, you just need a standard 3x3x3 set.

The Inside Out Cube is the first miniature cube puzzle from microcubology.

This is a real working interlocking cube puzzle that requires both skill and dexterity to solve. This version of the Inside Out Cube is 1.5 cm in size. Why is called the Inside Out Cube? Because the whole puzzle can be rebuilt inside out leaving a 3x3x3 hollow on the inside and all the interlocking legs on the outside.

In its life this puzzle has had three different names. As well as the 'Inside Out cube', which probably describes it best, it has been known as Triple Mirror, because three of the pieces are mirror images of the other three. And before that I used to call it the Tiresias cube. I'll leave you to figure that one out for yourselves!

CAUTION: THIS IS ONLY THE SPHERE CORE!! This a spherical core for Mefferts' Mosaic Cube, designed by me. Several people have noticed that the mechanism is a bit "spongy". The issues are illustrated by Roxanne Wong in this YouTube video.

The cause of this spongyness, and the resulting less-than-optimal turning, is the large cavity inside the puzzle into which the pieces are pushed. Twisty Puzzle Forum contributor Burgo suggested to fill the cavity with a spherical core. This new spherical core fills the cavity completely, making the puzzle more stable.

This is my variation on Adam G. Cowans excellent helicopter cube. In this version, the cuts are curved so that the orientation of the internal centerpieces can be seen, making the puzzle much more difficult.
The rotation of this puzzle is very smooth and stable. It is a great looking addition to your collection as well as a nice solving experience.

The 4x5x6 Cuboid is the next step up from my 3x4x5. This puzzle was made at the request of Sigurd Wedel. Just like the 3x4x5 this one shapeshifts as 90 degree turns are possible on the 4x6 faces.
In the design I've used a mechanism slightly different from that of my 3x4x5 and slightly more like a V-Cube. The result is a puzzle that rotates very smoothly, even better than the 3x4x5. This puzzle is truly very complex, having more than 40 different mechanical parts.

A large version of the puzzle is available here.

The goal is to assemble the five identical pieces shown in the first picture into the ring-like structure shown in the others. Each of the five pieces is made from six dodecahedral cells, giving the puzzle its name. It is based on the 120-cell, one of the six regular polytopes in four-dimensional space. When assembled the puzzle is a part of the stereographic projection of the radial projection of the 120-cell to the three-sphere.

This kit comes with free stickers so please also include your mailing address so I can send them to you (note: I am currently not offering super stickers).
This puzzle comes as a kit which you will need to assemble yourself. You will need to provide M3 screws and optional springs and or washers. You can also contact me directly to purchase a fully assembled and stickered copy of this puzzle.
