a fully articulated mini figure that can twist torso and bend knees. Made to be compatible with most brick brands. Please be gentle when connecting parts together especially the knees. If you order it with a coloured material, you may have to remove some of the polyamide powder that will be stuck inside the knees' joints (you can remove it using a toothpick).

Update: Dremelfuge is now provisionally available in the "Strong and Flexible" material, after some basic testing. No guarantee of safety is given, as always. The "Strong & Flexible" material Dremelfuge creates more vibration in use, which may indicate less stability than the "Grey Robust" (ABS) material. Caveat Emptor: As always, Dremelfuge is sold as an ornament, and any use as a tool is a risk entirely taken by the purchaser/user. I accept no responsibility for the safety of Dremelfuge.

DremelFuge is a centrifuge rotor for use with a rotary tool such as the popular "Dremel". As an Open-Source Hardware, DIYbio-inspired design it is intended to enable and inspire scientists world-wide.

At a rotary speed of 33,000rpm (the top speed for a standard Dremel 300), Dremelfuge can deliver up to 52,000g/rcf (1g = the force of Earth's gravity) on a sample in a standard 1.5ml microcentrifuge tube, measured halfway down the tube. This far exceeds the speeds typically used in lab protocols.

Dremelfuge can be used to collect bacteria, proteins, DNA or anything else suspended in a sample. Dremelfuge can be used to extract plasmids from cultures, to purify and cleanse DNA after enzymatic reactions, to remove precipitated impurities or for any other task calling for a powerful centrifuge.

It requires only the 5mm cutting tool holder that comes with the Dremel 300.

For safety reasons, Dremelfuge is sold as an ornament or curio; although demonstrated to be effective and reliable for routine lab tasks, use of Dremelfuge for any task other than as a decorative item is performed entirely at the risk of the buyer. It is suggested that all appropriate safety precautions be taken in such cases, including but not limited to eye protection.

The source files for Dremelfuge are hosted on Thingiverse here:

The intrauterine device (IUD) is the world's most widely used method of reversible birth control for women. But as their production and common materials cost only a few cents, they are sold for a staggering 400$- 850$. Unreachable for many women, especially young ones.

The Bearina IUD is a political product. It demonstrates the disruptive potential of 3D printed Open Designs to give free and global access to essential products, and circumvent industries (such as the Pharma industry) that aggressively defend their intellectual property to control the price and availability of their products. As an Open Design, the Bearina IUD promotes collaborative development and free sharing of knowledge. Further developed by a networked community or in partnership with a forward looking pharma company, It is always available for experimenting with and improving, and could evolve into a functional IUD.

The Bearina, with its bear head image, is visually friendly, to appeal, so to speak, to younger women. It is a conceptual product, a design fiction, and absolutely should not be used as an IUD. Nevertheless, it is designed according to dimensions, materials and shapes commonly found in IUDs.

You are welcome to download the production file of the Bearina IUD (.stl- Creative commons nc-at-sa 3.0 lisence) from my website (www.ronen-kadushin.com). It is free and ready for 3D printing. But if you prefer, you can also download it, or even order some Bearinas from Shapeways.com. They are only 1.25€ each.
In copper- containing IUDs, metal ions dissolving from the device create a spermicidal action. To do precisely that, a 1€ cent coin (copper covered steel) easily snaps in the plastic 3D printed part. An additional piece of nylon string is tied to the bottom part to complete the assembly of the Bearina IUD.

A rugged transport suitable for a crew of 2 to 6.

This first ship is a test to see if it is feasible to turn my Future Armada line of starships & deckplans Future Armada ships into miniatures. It has a hole in the bottom to fit a standard 1/8th inch stand.

Renderings, deckplans, and interior descriptions of the ship are all available for sale at places like RPGNow. Demo documents and sample art can be found at 0-hr.com.

Note that the model is 5cm long rather than the 4.4 reported by Shapeways. I recommend Black Detail material for this model.

As the original Chassis this was designed for is no longer available I've modified the design slightly. It will now fit on a Bandai 4w shorty B chassis 1 - This needs to be shortened to 39.5 mm long by cutting both ends off.

A chunk of our spawn area in Vokselia, done as a test. This is the absolute largest (at least in X and Z - the height limit is 7.8 inches high) that you can print in color, it's as large as the ZPrinter 650 printer can go. I was surprised, I thought the cost would be in the thousands, but it's "just" $633.14. The area here is 190 x 125 blocks, 2 mm wide. If you are sure you have no thin objects (tree trunks are particularly bad, they'll snap right off), you could go down to 1 mm. That's the scale of the model shown here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/postapocalyptic/6606221371/in/pool-1862849@N21/

Proof that it's easy to make fabulously expensive models easily with Mineways: size matters. This one's scaled to print out in color, so really adds up in cost, even with the base being hollow. That said, I didn't spend time making sure all the rooms inside the castle were filled in, so that they could be hollowed out later - I didn't think anyone would actually print this model out! Sarconix did, as a surprise. I suspect I could have saved maybe $20 by placing torches at room doorways and then using the "seal off entrances" option to fill the rooms (which would then get hollowed). Model built by Sarconix in Vokselia, vokselia.com

Built in the Minecraft world Vokselia by Mauricio Vives, then exported using the free Mineways program. See his site for more information, and see the video of its unveiling here. Mineways can now print with full textures applied to the model, but this is a nice print because of its simple solid colors. If you want textured versions, see the following here and here.

This ballista will easily launch a U.S. Penny across a cubicle farm, but most people use it to play Seej.

Seej is an Open Source tabletop wargame based around 3D printing. Rules and more information are available at www.s33j.net

If you'd like start playing Seej, there's a Seej Starter Set available on Shapeways, too. You'll need some extra bloxen", or possibly a whole lotta bloxen to really make a go of it. You'll want some flags, too. Construction is really simple! Needlenose pliers are recommended, but not strictly necessary.

You'll need two elastic bands to complete this ballista. Tie a single band through the bore on one of the two D-shaped locking keys. Repeat the process with the other locking key.

Feed the end of one band through the rectangular bore on the ballista's left post. Insert the tenons of the locking key into the square mortises on the post to lock the band in place. You'll be tempted to repeat the process with the other side, but don't give in. It will save you precious minutes of frustration.

Unlike the Zheng3 Penny Catapult, these locking keys should be a snug fit. If some settling of the plastic during printing has made the mortises too small, trim the tenons a bit with your blade of choice.

Center the nock on the knot that connects the two rubber bands. Make sure that the penny's cradle is facing forward.

Feed the end of the band that's been locked down through the rectangular bore on the nock. Tie the free end of the band to the second band. Now feed the free end of the second band through the outside of the rectangular bore on the right post and loop it through the second locking key.

The nock has a wee nub on its underside. Slide this nub into the ballista's firing groove; it will improve accuracy.

Load a penny into the nock, pull it back, and fire away. Be safe! Wear eye protection!

Be sure to check Zheng3.com for updates, or follow Zheng3 on Twitter.

 Now with roof !

Note this is quite a small industrial sized Loco  -  body is 75mm long 35mm wide and 57mm high

If you buy this please note it was meant to fit the Hornby 0-4-0 chassis but the changes needed to the chassis have proved a bit too drastic.

I'm trying to decide on another one to use at the moment so if you buy this you are on your own at the mo - sorry ! Be preparerd to have to do some work to get it to fit whatever you decide to use.

Any sugestions for an alternative chassis most welcome .

This model space ship strongly resembles the Concord Battleship in the computer game "EVE Online"
Note that I created this model myself, using only a screenshot for reference, so it isn't an exact match.

It comes without a stand, but it weighs only 3 grams and be could glued to your own stand, no problem.
I painted it with citadel paints from games workshop, but I suspect many other paints will work.

Custom pedal design. Should fit on a standard pedal skeleton.
I've prototyped this on Sandstone but it should be made from metal. I'm including sandstone as an option so it can be made cheaply to test the size before you commit to spending more money
Hole centers are 54mm. Ask me for the design file for the strap.
Please note you need to buy 2 per bike
