Here is an attractive and educationally useful pendant for the scholar, astronomer, steampunk enthusiast, or the lover of the unique and celestial.
The tellurion is a model of how the earth and the moon move in space. You will see that the eath rotates freely on its axis, orbited by the moon. Orbit the whole thing around a candle or lightbulb, and you have a full feldged model of the earth, the moon and the sun.
There is some talk that if you spin the little moon on this pendant around the earth with the right conditions, that you can travel forward and back in time! ;)
ASSEMBLY REQUIRED:
If you want a challenge, order this piece inexpensively here on Shapeways, and assemble it yourself at home. Assembly is not complex, but it does require some careful dexterity and a little strength. Disclaimer: If you order this model here and assemble it yourself, Whystler is not responsible for any damage you may cause to it.
