After playing around with the (Cage Edit Tool in Rhino), I was able to morph the straignt lines to create some ripples. What started as a simple opening, resulted in the 3D optical illusion. This feature is the only modified aspect of this phone case, while the rest of the architecture remains the same as the one of my earlier cases. This case has been designed following Apple's strict guidelines for iPhone cases - this assures a precise and tight fit and unconstrained functionality.

Protection

The Strong & Flexible material from Shapeways is durable enough to keep your iPhone completely safe when dropped. It can be combined with commercially available screen protectors. I would recommend combining it with the InvisibleShield for a nice combo protection.
Also, it is dishwasher-safe. If your case gets dirty over time, put it in your dishwasher and it will look brand new!

If you find that you accidentally touch the part of the iPhone antenna that reduces reception, you won't have that problem with this case. If you usually talk with your iPhone in your left hand, and if you are often in areas with marginal signal coverage, this case will make it less likely for you to lose a signal and drop a call.

Playing games or using the GPS raises your iPhone's body heat much. That's because you use your CPU at max. According to Apple's knowledge-base, if the interior temperature of the device exceeds normal operating temperatures, you may experience the following as it attempts to regulate its temperature: Device stops charging, Display dims, Weak cellular signal, Camera flash is disabled, Temperature warning screen appears with the message "iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it". To help your iPhone keep normal operating temperatures, you should use a bumper or a case such as this one, since it does not cover the back of the iPhone and does not trap the heat inside.

Design

This case doesn't distract much from the feel of the iPhone. It has the advantage of being the "un-case" because it is so minimal and does not cover the front or the back of the iPhone. Neither the sides.

It doesn't distract from the design of the iPhone either. The problem with traditional cases is that they completely cover up the iPhone. Using a traditional case you end up feeling like you are holding rubber in your hand when you hold your iPhone. The iPhone's design is really amazing and it would be a pity to hide. The case allows both the design to show and a quite smooth feel instead.

Easy to use

This case allows to plug in the 30-pin dock connector without removing the case, while all controls and connections remain accessible.

Instructions

To put the iPhone in the case, start at one of the top corners. To take it out, start from the bottom corners where there are no buttons.

Update: The original material, "Grey Robust" (ABS) is no longer available. Basic testing shows that the "Strong and Flexible" material works, but appears less stable (more vibration in use). It is back on sale, but the usual cautions apply, and I accept no responsibility for any negative consequences resulting from the use of Dremelfuge(s).

This is the Drill/Machine edition of Dremelfuge. It will not work with a Dremel or other rotary tool, as it requires a chuck to grip the axle.

DremelFuge is a centrifuge rotor for use with a drill or rotary tool. Though demonstrated to be effective at up to 33,000RPM / 52,000g, it is sold as an ornament only. Use of Dremelfuge for any practical purpose is undertaken entirely at the risk of the purchaser.

Instructions

For tighter clearances it is printed with the hinges out of place. So this model needs a little manual assembly. Each element has two "knobs" which need to be "clicked" into the corresponding "clamps" in the parent element.
It's easiest to start with the inner one and then continue outwards.
And then... rotate away !

Note, Please be careful with the assembly of the Alumide version as this material is less flexible than the others.

I've attached a ball to the rolling ball sculpture with the idea that you cut it off and sand it and it should work as the marble. The marble is 5/8 inch so it should work with regular glass or wooden marbles too. Yea it works! See the video!

The Lightclip was designed specifically for 3D printing in White Strong and Flexible. This material is very strong (obviously), affordable and an excellent light diffuser. I made this model which mimics the front of a MacPro computer for a friend of mine who is a fan of Apple products, I thought it might interest other geeks around there.
This phone cover has been tested for everyday use, the phone is set up and removed quickly, it fits nicely and all buttons and ports are easily accessible, no need to remove the case to plug the connector.
