Contrary to popular belief, scotch whisky is best not served with ice. Ice will shut down the flavour, instead a few drops of room temperature water will open out the flavour of the whisky. Add too much and you drown the whisky! This small jug can be used to hold water for adding 'just a drop' to bring out the full flavour of your whisky. Inspired by a water droplet, this would also look nice sitting on a shelf in any home. The large hole on the side is to fill the jug, if this hole is covered with your thumb when pouring, it also helps control the water flow for maximum control of the amount of water you add!

Oslo Ceramic Coaster No.2 of 6

Set of 6 Cermic Coasters, produced and available through Shapeways.

This project started with my fascination for city grids, from the strict geometry of New York to the seemingly chaotic Bombay layout. At the time, living abroad and a bit homesick, I decided to use the map of Oslo as a starting point for my Oslo Coasters. I picked 6 different areas in Oslo that represents different memories for me and created these products based on the city grid. The can be used seperatly or together.

It's a small coffee cup whose handle is a moebius strip.
It is only attached on one side (where it is horizontal): I guess such a shape should be difficult to do without 3D-printing.
Oddly enough, it is quite ergonomic: put your thumb on the vertical part of the moebius strip, put the opposite horizontal part between your index and your medium, et voilà!

The portal pressure button! Key to any test chamber and it's also a stylish cup coaster when having some cake!

No need to paint this yourself, it comes fully coloured and textured!

I advise you to use some clear coat on the piece, so that the colours stay vibrant for longer. As people who have printed in FCS before may know, FCS colours can fade when wet and clear coat will help protect them.
I have been using mine for 3 weeks at the office where I go through at least 5 cups of tea a day, and with clear coat, it's remained in good condition.

Please also consider visiting my website: www.psychobob.co.uk

Disclaimer:
- The FCS finish is a little rougher than strong and flexible materials and can potentially scratch surfaces (i.e. wooden tops). I advise you to give the bottom of the piece and the bottom edges a light sanding with some fine sandpaper to remove the roughness to prevent scratching surfaces. If it's "frosty" after the sanding, you can use some clear coat and it should remove the frosting as well as protect the piece.
- When using clear coat, always apply a small amount to a discreet part of the model (i.e. the bottom) and let it dry thoroughly to ensure it does not react poorly to the material.

It''s a Yin & Yang symbol represented by two koi fishes, but since I''d like to give an option for the material also made it in one part, i didn''t set it as black and white (Yin Yang colors).
The decoration of the design was meant to be a candle holder.

These three parts Yin & Yang decoration represented by a pair of black and white koi fishes. This black fish is the first part.
To build them as a full decoration, all three parts has to be collected (Black & White Fishes and the holder).
The purpose of separated these statue is to make it easier for material combination so they don't have to be painted anymore.

By request, a mug-sized version of the Rocket Espresso Cup. Ideal for coffee drinkers despairing of failure to launch, or for pathologically lethargic espresso drinkers. The cup should hold approximately 6-7 fluid ounces.

Please note that I have not fabricated this model yet, so I haven't had an opportunity to evaluate its ergonomics. Your mileage may vary. Conversely, if you order one, please send me a photo!

D-CUP

the D-CUP is a double layered cup with a 'deconstructive design' outer shell. you can easily hold your cup with hot coffee or tea safely inside the inner cup. due to the high pricing of the ceramic material itself we at Novastar Designs also created the more affordable D-CUP Espresso! . This initial version of the D-CUP has been recently updated to the D-CUP: Revisited!, which is now available in our shop...

A gift for this holiday seasonal time, a receptacle for twelve grapes for the New Year's Eve, made with Glazed ceramics and silver. Of course, the piece also could be used for other appetizers or desserts: olives, frozen chocolates truffles,....It's modular and stackable.
Working the 3D shape we saw the resulting form as the perimeter of the African continent, and then we thought the idea of launching the product with a solidary approach, earmarking 12 euros for each sold piece to a Non Govermental Organitzation for the fight against hunger in Africa, or 120 euros in silver. http://www.shapeways.com/model/388683/africa__silver.html?gid=sg63286/

More info about "twelve grapes" tradition (Source: Wikipedia) *The Twelve Grapes (Sp. Las doce uvas de la suerte, "The twelve grapes of luck") is a Spanish tradition that dates back from at least 1895 but become consolidated in 1909. The tradition consists in eating a grape with each bell strike at midnight of December 31. According to the tradition, that leads to a year of prosperity. Each grape is eaten with each beat of the bell. This tradition was adopted also by places with a broad cultural relation with Spain such as Mexico and other Latin American countries, as well as Hispanic communities in the United States. Countries as far as the Philippines have adopted the tradition.*

minimalist design, great functionality.
This shaker is conveniently filled from the top through it's big funnel-shaped opening. There is no plug, no lid - just this one hole does the trick.
The internal design of the shaker allows individual and precise dispensing from first to last serving.

A 16cm high clasp mug whose interior is formed by five miniature, upturned Fan Vaults (an English Gothic innovation from the 14th Century), contained within a simple circular exterior which opens up with five triangular cuts at the base to reveal the complex geometry underneath. As you drink, and the top of your tea (or coffee) descends, the changing geometric section through the mug is brought into sharp, ornamental relief.

This is a small and light sculpture, that's perfect as an egg cup. Part of our ongoing easter series this was designed as an atypical way to hold your egg for consumption. Some easter traditions see the children weaving makeshift nests so the easter bunny could place eggs and gifts in them just after sunrise(usually leaving the kids wondering how in gods name did he get past them without anyone noticing). This particular nest will also do nicely as a way to expose an easter egg that you particularly fancy in way that's both traditional and with a flare of modern design.
