A sewable clothing button with hollow pegs.

Note: The pegs in this design are 5mm in diameter. There is enough give in the Detail material for it to join with the inspiration piece's 4.9mm diameter sockets. Pieces produced in Stainless Steel don't have that flexibility and the resulting 0.1mm difference a bit too tight.

This base design is Creative Commons licensed. The source files can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1005

Remix as you see fit!

This little button includes special diagonal thru-holes in the pegs for sewing conductive thread. Each peg's center hole passes straight through to act as a socket for thru-hole component terminals and wires.

Use them to make more mechanically robust and electrically isolated contacts in sewable electronics.

When you order you will receive a pair, so you only need to make one order. I have another design like this one, but without the traditional fixed backing and I also have a double sided version.

A dozen Sewable Disc Buttons to fab at once for better pricing on "Strong and Flexible" material options' base start-up cost.

Note: I have not test-printed this. I'm waiting until I have other parts ready to get past $25 minimum.

I have printed older sewable disc button designs successfully, but be aware that the little holes will likely be clogged with unfused binder. They are easy to clean with a needle; I haven't tried flushing out the holes with water or washing them yet.

We did it, we got married last November. We picked a brewery as our venue and unsurprisingly I decided I want to make as many things myself as possible for the event. One of the things I picked to create was the boutonnieres for myself and my groomsmen. Since the wedding was at a brewery I thought it would be fun to carry the theme into the boutonnieres and make them look like ethanol molecules. After printing glue a pinback on and you're ready to go out on the town!

If you wear Levi's Jeans and keep you phone in your right pocket I'm sure you have the feeling that you are going to scratch your screen on the watch pocket rivets. After doing this to my last phone; finally getting a new one drove me to fix this problem. This cover snaps onto the watch pocket rivets and protects your phone screen from damage. So far I have only tried these in white and have not had them through the wash yet. But they stay on during normal wear and tear no problem.

one dozen 5/8" buttons with five holes, for making stars when sewn on to garments, tote bags, etc.

The buttons arrived thinner than I expected (royal blue photo); I have since adjusted them to be thicker and sturdier (purple buttons photo.)
