Hi Duann,

I'd love one in silver but they are just outside shapeways maximum silver size - 3cm deep but I might produce a silver one with a non-shapeways caster.
I was wondering about trying my luck with the 'break the rules' section of stainless steel - although I'm not sure if the petals have enough support structure.
Otherwise the strong and flexible ones are colourful, light and comfy to wear

Have a good one,

Hey,
I looked into a place in St Peters near Sydney park that do wax prints and then silver lost was casting, they were way too expensive compered to shapeways though. If your interested still they are called "Rapid Prototyping services"

@ Leigh, You're right about Australian wax printing and casting prices . It's the wax printing that is currently very expensive (but usually quite high resolution) the silver itself is usually priced competitively.

The other option for some designs (depending on geometry) is to create the first prototype wax print to cast....then have a rubber mold made from the silver model. The rubber mold can then be injected with wax which then can be cast in various precious metals - thus avoiding recurrent wax printing costs....of course this only works for models where a few of the same thing are required, and the quality isn't always quite as lovely as the original (seams, minor shrinkage etc).

Who knows the lovely Shapeways people might change the design rules to accept larger sterling silver pieces (I hope), oh and I noticed that imaterialise is now offering gold and silver too (hope I don't get grumped at for mentioning non-Shapeways producers on this forum).

Hehehe, yes imaterialise is the only other place i would see fit price wise to get something printed. Healthy competition is what keeps shapeways cheap so keep mentioning other places! LOL.
