Hi Shapeways Forum :)

Hello everyone,

My name is falldeaf and I'm new to the shapeways community, I recently learned to use the 3d program blender in the interest of working on a video game. That's been going well but I also found out that a 3d program can be useful for unexpected and interesting things.

I designed a coffee table in blender:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/falldeaf/4351500600/

Then built it in real life, it worked pretty well
http://www.flickr.com/photos/falldeaf/4381440015/

And since finding this site I've been excited about the opportunity to try and model and print an object. The first item I modeled and ordered is a sunflower pendant for my girlfriend. She likes sunflowers I'm hoping my design will work well and I'll definitely do a forum post after I receive the object.

http://www.shapeways.com/model/99605/Sunflower%20Pendant.htm l

I've also done the shop option and would like to try making some other trinkets and gadgets. Ever since I saw this documentary called 'objectified', http://www.objectifiedfilm.com/ I thought I'd like to attempt to design something that other people might think is interesting, beautiful or useful. I hope I'll be able to accomplish that.

Anyway, I'm really impressed with the talent here on this site and the community seems really friendly. I'm looking forward to being a part of it.

Thank you for reading,
