What is the nature of the ceramic mid-process (before firing)? Is it hard and brittle, like dried clay?

How much volume is the boat in the middle?

Judging by the shadows, the boat only touches one "rung" of the bottle, along the keel. I'd imagine making some part of the sides touch another rung of the bottle would make this more sturdy. The Boat does not have too big of a volume because it is hollow.
Funny, this in fact adds to the price because, for ceramics, they charge
per cm2: $0.18/cm2 surface area, and not per volume, as they do for all other materials

The final print orientation will be with the bottle horizontally sitting on a wire display stand.
I'm adding a Display Stand as you can see here: SHIP IN A BOTTLE" http://shpws.me/3Quu ),
but made out of "wires" and that will be common with the bottle.

The boat will also intersect with the wire bottle in more critical points as TurtlesAreCool
already has suggested.

In fact I am completely re-designing it specifically for ceramics.
