Purple Strong & Flexible, extra thickness

Hi Shapeways,

Received my latest model in the post today - way ahead of schedule. They look fantastic...

I have a question about accuracy, in particular Purple Strong & Flexible.

I had to sand down the round models, to fit. As I sanded them down - I revealed white plastic below. After sanding all the purple (die?), the models fit together perfectly. But the screw/tapping does not fit, as I can not sand the crevices.

See the next two photos....

The http://www.shapeways.com/materials/strong-flexible-design-gu idelines mention:-
Accuracy: ± 0.15mm, then ± 0.15% of longest Axis

How big is the coloured coating ?
Which colour in strong flexible does not have a covering - (guessing only white) ?

Thanks,

The coloring isn't a coating, the whole part is dyed, but the dye only gets so deep. The other parts are stainless prints right? that has an accuracy of 2mm. So a combination of the 2 variances could lead to your fit issues.
