Suggestions for paint or whatever to fill in text engraved in white detail ?

If I have a white detail model with some millimeter or sub-millimeter scale (width and depth of the lines) text or other markings engraved in its surface, what'd be the best way to get something black into those grooves to pick them out ? Something permanent and waterproof.

I'm interested in the case of white text on black detail too.

Thanks for any tips

Aha... seems to be one of those cases where figuring out what magic phrase to google for works wonders. In this case it's "color filling".

e.g http://www.engraverssolutions.com/PDFs/tips&tricks-color _filling.pdf recommends "paint sticks" or oil-based enamels.

Most standard paints or pastes should work for "Detail" materials. As it is covered in some kind of waxy substance, it is recommended to thoroughly wash it in warm water and detergent before applying paint, as variously discussed in these forums.
