Impossible Twist is a twisty puzzle, inspired by the impossible dovetail object. As its cut crosses the equator, the mechanism is classified as "deeper-than-origin". The puzzle is very easy to solve, as it cannot be scrambled that much.

Hi!
I've been showing my daughter the wonders of 3D modelling and talked about 3D printing.
My daughter is only 4 years old but told me specific instructions on how she would want an ornament of her favourite animal in the world; a bunny.

I actually received the package from Shapeways one day before her 4th birthday.

Here is the result. =)
Marco is a kinetic sculptor specializing in mobiles. His work (up until now, handmade) has been featured in shops and galleries across the US and internationally. We met in February via twitter when I was looking into motors for moving a 3D printed sculpture, and got talking about the possibilities for 3D printed mobiles. As far as we can tell, these are the first fully 3D printed mobiles in the world.
A ball with holes is contained by a cage and six pointy gears. When the ball is turned then the gears follow. Both the ball and the gears are bi-colored. The object of the puzzle is to turn the ball such that it ends up upside down, while the gears are returned to their original position.

Cariband case for iPhone 5 by David Tsai in his shop Object Theory

@ElisaRichardson

The iPhone 5 can do a lot of amazing things, but it can't hold even the smallest piece of paper. Cariband is a case for the iPhone 5 that holds the things we carry day to day: ID, credit card(s), cash...etc. By folding and inserting into the band, your iPhone can be viewed in portrait or landscape mode. Cariband is useful in holding things to our iPhone 5, or holding our iPhone 5 onto things.

This is my first 3d printed design project. I have always wanted to design a 3d printed object, and the iPhone 5 gave me a great subject to design around. The thing I noticed about cases, is that there are a lot of cosmetic differences, but they all do the same thing, I wanted to add more functionality to the iPhone case, while maintaining a clean aesthetic. Considering how much we carry our phone with us, it seemed to me that the phone case could do more.

you can see the project at http://www.objecttheory.net which will take you to my store in shapeways.

Thanks!

hehe   Hi Natalia!

So what's going on anyway? Or is it top secret? Did Shapeways hire her to do some modeling for some 3D printed fashion items or something like that?

I'd like to design something for her. Shoes or a dress or anything! Does she have a scan of her body that is available?

I haven't posted anything up, but I've been working on fashion items since that is a good direction to go in for 3D printing.

My models were part of my school's art festival, two weeks ago (NYU, Gallatin). My exhibit was about multicultural character/toy design. The picture I took with my phone is pretty bad, but you can see a better picture taken by the festival's photographer here: http://gallatinartsfestival.squarespace.com/morgan-seiler/

All of the figurines came out perfectly! I was so surprised that Shapeways could print such detail vibrantly, on a tiny figurine.
