I work in custom Lego/Kre-o parts as well, so I feel your pain.

The only caution I'd give about the FD and FUD is that they tend to be more fragile than WSF. This might not be a problem if these parts are just going to sit on a shelf, but it might create more risk of breakage if you plan on snapping parts on and off or in and out of hands frequently.

I always recommend my customers go with WSF and paint it.

I came across this page while searching for a 3D printing companies, for the necklace I designed for myself. Then I saw, I could do way more in here rather than to print my necklace and go home.. I found it fascinating, all the possibilities this company offers.
I studied industrial design and architecture, but later on I moved to advertising, and so far I'm Creative Director in my own advertising agency here in Georgia (www.creative.ge). Advertising is my life, but industrial design was always something I felt passionate about.
I'm not skilled in 3D software but I have lots of contacts/friends who are eager to help me in this one.

I'm deeply excited to be part of Shapeways and looking forward to deliver more stuff in here.
My shop will be on soon, still trying to get Paypal account and make it work.
I'm new here, so If you have any ideas, advices, how I can be useful in cooperation, or how can I improve myself in this community you are more then welcome to contact me!

None of that at all. Standard practice with new materials. Do a trial run, assess the data. Did pricing work? Did the design rules work? Do people want to keep it (as you can see from that blog post, so far a resounding yes)? As long as I've been here only one material didn't come back after the trial run. That was our Black Elasto Plastic, and that was because the design rules required made the material no longer desirable.

Shutting Premium Silver down? Why? It's awesome! Are the polisher's hands getting tired, or are people not buying in that mat? Or, maybe the wax to plaster mold, to product pour is too many steps and not financially feasible? I will hate to see that go, as it is the main reason I joined.
Sorry about that

1) What brings you to Shapeways?
I always wanted to get involved in 3D printing and since a descent 3D printer is out of reach for my Shapeways seams a perfect solution.
2) Where are you from?
I'm from the Netherlands, North Brabant. Close to Eindhoven.
3) What are your interests or hobbies that you plan on using Shapeways for?
I love to see my designs come to live. So i hope to make some money on the side that i can invest in my own projects
4) Your software (Don't have one? Look here for a list of known compatible software!)
I use Sketchup for most of my modelling and i use it daily for my work. but i know my way around 3dsMax. i also am very knowledgeable with the adobe suit
5) Your experience level
well let other people judge about that...
