Yesterday I got my pine cones in the mail! Just in time for people to order them for Christmas (I hope).

I used the Fibonacci sequence to make these... I got the idea after watching one of ViHart's awesome videos on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahXIMUkSXX0 She has lots of cool math stuff.

So today I went out to look for some pine branches (apparently you're officially not allowed to pick em in the woods. 74 Euro fine if they catch you). I ended up buying some from a very fancy garden centre for 3 euros. Then spent half the day trying to figure out the correct settings on my mobile phone's camera.

At 15:00 I had the first acceptable photo... finally... only for the sun to completely disappear (almost like nightfall)... So I guess this is the one... unless I get some good light tomorrow!

BTW... Whoa Red is a hard colour to photograph! I think I will stick with basic white next time!

Oh here's the page in my shop: http://www.shapeways.com/model/769962/christmas_pine_cone_de coration.html
