Hi Everyone.

I am new to this on-line way of doing things, so I am keeping my rates fairly low for my clients.

I am currently accepting 3D modeling jobs for mechanical and industrial parts.

I am well versed in creating 3D models from basic sketches as well as

documentations and engineering drawings.

I am most comfortable in using Solidworks as my primary CAD since this

is the software that I grew up with so I can model almost anything

with it, with the exception of fabrics, organic materials like grass

or trees and other free flowing materials.

Please feel free to contact me if you'd be interested.

I've been using Solidworks for about 15 years, Cinema 4D for a little more than 5 years. Mostly it's been props from science fiction and fantasy video games, but also a substantial amount of pure mechanical work for hobby robotics.

A few years ago I worked at a TechShop, teaching classes on and maintaining about 7 different CNC machines. Since, I've been programming and operating CNC machines in traditional manufacturing settings. More recently, I've been collaborating with prop builders by using Shapeways to print initial high-quality mold masters- going directly to finish sanding saves them a lot of time.

The work I produce is solid, detailed, and purposeful.
Napkin sketches, general ideas, or specific photographic references are all that's needed for me to build from. Designs can incorporate non-3D-printing processes; CNC milling, and laser/plasma/router cutting, as well as fasteners and off-the-shelf hardware and parts. If desired for mechanical parts, some FEA and mass properties calculations can be supplied- and parts optimized for.

Both artistic and mechanical parts can be produced. I'm specifically interested in generative or procedural part post-processing - voronei lightening, etc. I can optimize parts for volume, and I understand and follow best practices with regards to material-specific geometry.

I'm a native English speaker, with moderate proficiency in Spanish.

Please contact me for a quote with information about your project.

Below are some examples of my work.

I am an engineer with experience working for small start up companies and have a passion for designing products. I have a degree from Purdue University and am a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA- basically means I know what I am doing with 3d CAD). Don't let those qualifications make you think I will charge outrageous rates though, I enjoy helping people make their ideas come to life and can usually complete small designs fairly quickly, so a large fee for that work just doesn't make sense to me. The only thing I don't take on is character models, because these lean towards the non-technical which is not my expertise.

I look forward to working with you on your next project,

Working on a documentary film! Need a miniature version of the US Capital building. I would like to not include the very left and right side though (image attached for ref). I also would like a good amount of detail on the dome part. The total height should be anywhere from 6" to 10".

This is a quick turnaround, so I would like to get someone going on it in the next 5 days. THX!!

I would also like to discuss the project over the phone first, because my attached jpg does not have a great deal of detail.

The "3D Modeler For Hire", and "3D Modeler Needed" sections have been alive and well for a good while now. A few things have arisen that we'd like to address with a few Guidelines:

If you are looking for a modeler, from this point on, the acceptable way to contact the modeler about a job is through PM or email (if provided by the modeler). There are a couple reasons for this, but it is primarily to keep the playing field fair for all modelers for hire.

If you are shopping for the best price, then the modeler needed section is for you. Of course you could PM every modeler for hire, but you can just create a thread in the modeler needed section. If someone is interested in doing your project, they'll contact you.

Now for your own benefit:

Have a good idea of what you would like designed!
Familiarize yourself with our materials and the requirements of these materials.
The more information you can convey to the designer, that happier you'll be with the end product.

I am a concrete artisan and am working on a line of small geometric planters and related items. I need the items modeled to be 3D printed so that I can make rubber molds of the objects. The geometric items are shapes such as icosidodecahedron, snub cube, icosahedron, etc. Most of these shapes have been modeled and are available in .skp format, but I want to adjust and remove planes from the shapes and model the inside portion as a planter with a positive draft.

I would prefer to work with someone in the Phoenix, AZ area if possible to help speed the process, but am open to working via email and Skype. If interested, please message me with a link to your portfolio and rates.

I am a newbie 3D modeler and I am accepting works involving creation of 3D models and documentations/ assembly drawings.

I've done a couple of 3D prototyping jobs here, the concepts is similar it's just that the output varies with each product.

Depending on the completeness and the complexity of your design, my standard turn around time for a single-part product is only about 2-3 hours. But for products having several moving parts, I will have to see the actual design first before I can give a more accurate estimate of how long it will take me.

Please see attached sample of my other CAD works and please feel free to contact me if you'd be interested.

I have been using Solidworks for about 3 years now and now have my Solidworks certification. I scored a 235 out of 240 on the exam and have done countless parts and assemblies for school and personal projects at home and in the classroom. I guess my expertise is Solidworks as it is the only program I've used. I have done many parts and a lot of assemblies. My biggest project was a model glider that was about 2 and 3/4 feet long and a wingspan of 3 feet and flew great with a little tweaking. I need help designing a toy size podcar, or Personal Rapid Transit, also called PRT, system.
Originally I wanted the system to have robots and buttons that would make the toy actually move and work like a podcar system. But when I learned more on how that would need to happen I gave up on that idea and now I just want something that the kid pushes around. Like a toy train set that doesn't move on its own. An extremely simple design on the cars is fine.
The cars need to have wheels that turn and doors that open. The wheels/tires assembly can be of the same material or something different. I just need the car to move. I would like the door or doors to be slide to open, like a sliding glass door. Open to ideas on the door but I don't want it to open like a traditional car. Something more futuristic. The size would be about the size of a hot wheels car or a little bigger. The interior needs to have a seat, sort of like what they have on this: customisation/
Just a sort of ledge on each side to serve as the seats would be fine. Maybe a total of three colors on the car, including the transparent "window" parts.
Then I need miniature people that can fit about four to a car. I would like for the people to be able to sit and stand, so they can "sit" in the cars. The people can be very simple otherwise. Something like the simplest type of fisher price little people or even simpler. I found a site with a bunch of simple figurines but I'm having trouble finding it again. Then I need a way for the people to attach to the seats in the cars. But I don't want to do a fisher price style of cutting a hole in the feet. Open to ideas but I want to do something else. I'm thinking of a Velcro attachment. It's okay if you don't have an idea on how to attach the people to the car. I'll figure that part out later.
I think I want to get that much done first and then figure out the guideway and stations. Since most actual PRT systems advertise that they can be elevated so as to not interfere with existing traffic, eventually I think I want an elevated guideway and custom track parts so the kid can build a PRT system right on top of an existing train or car set. But I would be really happy with just the car and people for a while. So I guess just keep in mind that the cars will need to work on a guideway, but don't worry about the guideway yet.
You can see a lot of examples if you search for "personal rapid transit" in google images. There's lots of pictures on this website

Hi Everyone,
I thought I would show you all the step by step process of getting a character modelled by INNER LEAF by showing you a case study of a recent project we did. This character is a tiny 28mm tall. To give you an idea, the face is only 3mm tall so its really quite amazing how much detail we can achieve with this material and of course with our model painters.

Step 1: Artwork
We receive some sketches or images of a character.

Step 2: Pose
We then look at creating a pose for that character and then produce some 3D renders for you to review

Step 3: Printing
The most popular material for character painting is FUD which looks like this when printed (really difficult to photograph as its like ice)

Step 4: Painting
We can then paint the models for you if requested and you end up with a fantastic model like this:

Hope you like our models and please get in touch if we can help with your character model projects.

Hey everyone, I'm 15, live in Colorado and my passion is design and development. You may think I'd be inexperienced or lacking in skill but I assure you I'm not. I have been designing things using an array of CAD Programs since I was 9 and I have recently purchased my own 3D printer so I can test out prototypes. Whatever you can dream up I can design and make it a reality. Contact me for more details, I charge not by the hour but by the project. It depends on the complexity and size of the project. Also jewelry is not my strong-suit and I have found that it doesn't print very well either. It usually ends up breaking unless its metal.

Hello, I was a professional video game artist for several years and have extensive experience creating a variety of 3D models including character, environment, and object designs.

I'm fairly new to Shapeways, but you can find my shop with some designs here:

My rate depends on the scope of the project, but I promise to be fair and reasonable.

My name is Amy Rugg and I am a CAD designer working in Gemvision's Matrix software with 21 years experience in fine jewelry manufacturing. I focused on metal fabrication and wax carving before the 3D printing revolution. I have a strong fundamental understanding of how fine jewelry is finished after being cast. My pieces stand up over time and are comfortable to wear, as well as laid out professionally for finishing. Please contact me with any size project.

I am currently offering the following services:
Full CAD design services
Fixing up your CAD files for production, I will bring the file up to industry standards.
Consulting services for jewelry line start ups.
CAD review, I will review your model and note areas that need to be changed to bring the piece up to industry standards.
Rendering - Awesome renders for your online marketplace

Rate: Minimum CAD charge $30, all projects quoted per piece.

Have you ever wanted your very own, personalized mathematical sculpture? I have a fair bit of CAD experience and am willing to help you realize any shape you might desire to own for cheap prices. I generally like to work in Wings 3D, TopMod, Blender, and Autodesk Inventor. If have you have any shape you would like made for you (mathematical or otherwise), please feel free to send me a message! I look forward to working with you!

Hello my name is James Williams and I am the lead artist , I have several years of experience in a variety of creative fields including game design and
product modeling. I currently specialize in producing high poly models for product developers,
most of which happen to be automotive and inventions. This means that I see a ton of different
concepts come across my desk and have complete confidence that I can take on any task.

In addition to my extensive modeling experience, I have strong communication skills coupled with
my ability to turn projects around quickly. My broad design background makes me an excellent
candidate for this project.
