I would like to know if young teenagers and adults would buy these mugs for their friends as gifts?
I know it is a little more pricey than normal mugs but would you get these anyway? :D

Please help to support my shop!

Hi everyone, this is my first post on these forums.

The model in question is a full color sandstone skull of a demonic imp. I already checked it in netfabb, and as far as i am aware no geometry goes below 2.7mm, and even then it's a relatively small area on the back of head. Let me know what you think and wether or not you like it. Although the model is available for purchase, it will be some time before I can order a test print, since I am currently on a tight budget.

Hope you like it:

Anyone have experience pushing the ceramic design guidelines a little...
My wall thickness stands around 3-4mm; but the text / font embossing/engraving is between 1.5 - 3 mm. Overall height is 3" for the 44mag and 4" for the AK47. Also, anyone have a good link to explain density? Is it simply based on the bounding box? I uploaded one model that I thought would be a cheaper version with more engraving, and it turned out to be more expensive??? Thx.

The capabilities of the FUD process isn't capable of making the part I need. Free standing wires require a much greater cross section than I can tolerate. The part was intended as a master to build an RTV silicone mold as an alternative to machining one in brass. To get around the limits of the FUD process I designed some mold boxes that will enable me to build the mold directly, bypassing the intermediate master step. The mold boxes are considerably more expensive than the final product when built in a 3D process, but it's still a lot easier than machining brass.

I'm not so concerned about the dimensions of the final part, but I am concerned about the fit of the two mating surfaces of the mold. A poor fit results in a lot of flash that has to be trimmed away. Does anyone have experience with such an approach?

Working on my next horse sculpture; this one will be printed multiple times, painted by me a bunch of different colors, and sold to benefit Mustang rescue groups out west as they fight against the BLM, to preserve the wild herds that are truly the vanishing spirit of America and its heritage.

Still a long way to go but getting there!!

Check out this beautiful leaf bracelet to remind you of the best time of the year; every leaf on the bracelet is twisted and turned to give the sense that they are falling.

This is a lovely bracelet that is perfect for any time or day!
My inspiration for this is nature; I love the patterns in nature and how much of an impact in can give on people.

Got some question (silver material , polished , premium) :

1 - If I`m making detail on bugs that are not 0.5 mm will and some parts are 0.5 then 0.3 then 0.2 etc ? Will show only 0.3-0.5 , I ask this because I want to sculpt some detail on the ladybugs : the black spots

2 - Does the boolean part give problem on the image with the loop ?!

3. - If 1 is a problem then I leave the design like in the measurement picture with thickness.

I`ll love to make that spots Sad

Thank you in advance!

A flying machine inspired by Leonardo da vinci's flying machine; the base has enough room to rotate the desk toy in a circle. Leonardo da vinci was my favorite artist an artist whom is known all over the world and invented as well as painted.

Hello,

I've uploaded my first model:
https://www.shapeways.com/model/1365056/nila-eschge-case-lt- 3.html

I was hoping to get some feedback before printing it. I already sent it to service@shapeways, but I guess at this stage I'd really wish for all the help I can get. Smile

I've attached the repaired .stl file (repaired with netfabb), but I really have no idea whether the fine pattern and the overlapping bevel on the heart shape would actually print well. Either way I really doubt it will polish well with the small holes etc. If anyone with experience could take a look, I'd be really grateful!

Thanks in advance.

I was suggested to turn many of my 1/87 scale crates into 28mm War Gaming pieces.

Pieces like this, http://shpws.me/oNSC The EXO-Loader. It's been scaled up and now stands 42mm high.

Or this, http://shpws.me/oVUY Storage Case / Weapons Case. Great piece for any battlefield of cargo bay.

Or this, http://shpws.me/oVUZ K Rail / Traffic Control Barrier. Great for urban combat zones.

Plus a few other items. Have a look at what I have. tell me what you all think. Make suggestions and all
comments are welcome. Please just be kind.

Hey guys

Just wanted to show you my designs for the "Graft Concepts" contest.
I made three models:

Metric ruler:

Inches ruler:
index.php?t=getfile&id=35357&private=0

And a puzzle game for those "No battery" situations...

index.php?t=getfile&id=35359&private=0

I have a few days to remodel them so if you have any suggestions just shout here (and if you like them you can just shout "5 stars" in the model page)

Thanks

Hi all,
the last week i saw on youtube a very cool short film from Richard Gale.
I was very inspired from the demon that pop out in the film, the Ginosaji.
I think i will do it in full color sandstone, but i don't know the printing size, i'd like to preserve as mush as i can from the face.

Here an image of the work'n progress.
I decided to modoify a bit the face and exaggerate some features of his expression.

Hello everybody.

I've been lurking and occasionally posting on these forums for a while. I made several prints, mostly jewelry as that's pretty easy come up with and doenst need any texturing or rigging.

But now I have made a character for my university as part of an assignment and I would like to pose and print him. I could do the easy thing and just print him in FCS as is, but that would be really boring. so I'm going to be posing him in a nice pose that fits him.

As this is going to be my first venture into FCS printing, I was wondering about a few things. As you can see in the screenshot, this character has some shaders on him. I have some ideas on how to fake those and get more detail in the print, using displacement maps.
I was just hoping to get some advice about some of the pittfalls I could run into with printing a model like this.
If anyone has any advice, please let me know Smile

I built a textured model in Meshlab and exported it as a .wrl for printing at shapeways. That worked. Now I would like to combined several such textured models into a single file, but I cant figure out method short of combining untextured models and retexturing them all as a group. Any solutions?

I've been working on models of the sonic screwdrivers from Doctor Who for years now and over the past few months have tweaked them to be perfect for 3d print applications. I already orders all the parts but while waiting, I'm overly anxious to paint and assemble the models, so I'm occupying myself by posting about them on forums like this one. Without further ado, here are the 3d rendered models:

Hi forum members!

I discovered this website today and it inspired me to design something new. I have come up with a holder for the wireless charger of the Nokia Lumia 920. This way its easier to interact with and read while its charging. Lots of people got this charger for free with their 920, so i wanted to offer something unique to make the charger more useful.

But i have doubts about if its printable or not and if the holder could withstand a weight of 280 gram/9.88 ozs. What do you think?

I appreciate your help!

Kind regards,

Relief

I'm trying to create photorealistic scale models of animals. This is my first attempt of creating an organic model. I've experiance with architectural 3D design, but organic models are a different league I've noticed. I've finished my first animal: The Giraffe. Here a few pics of the two models I've made:

I've also tried to give my shop a nice design and make my shopsections clear. http://www.shapeways.com/shops/mininature
When you've some feedback on my models or shop, that will be very helpfull. English isn't my native language, so if you spot some strange phrases or words in my shop, I'll be thankfull when you let me know.
In the future I'll upload more different animals & poses.

Symbolic sculpture with the XXX: Kisses and a sign of Amsterdam, the city of the red zone areas. In several shapes you can see lips and or female sex organs.
