This my first try with strong & flexible plastics. It's a fruit bowl also useful as decorative centerpiece. Base thickness is 3,2 mm and lateral wall thickness is 2 mm. Bowl diameter is about 200 mm. On your opinion (experience) are the thicknesses appropriate?
Thank you very much.

Hi Shapies,
This is a reiteration of my Think Outside the Box Ring, and it will be printed shortly in stainless steel
This ring is for all those who like to think, dream, imagine and are absolutely bored with standarization, mondaine life, cubicles, cookie-cutter thinking and so on. This particular one has a 17.30mm diameter, but please feel free to email me for custom sizes. (available in a variety of materials). email:kspaho172@g.rwu.edu

Hi guys. Seeking advice from the more experienced modelers out there, please!
This is my first design which consists of two rings with the inner ring expected to freely rotate. So my questions are:
Will the inner ring be able to rotate?
Is the design printable? (i.e. sufficient gap size?)
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated !
UPDATE:
Just a point of clarification, my questions regarding rotation,
gap, and printability are more directed at the pivot and peg and no the rings themselves.

The idea behind this coffee cup is to be able to stack several cups, and to be able take this stack by grabing the upper cup.
This is done by a bayonet-style locking system.
So here is the Bayonet Cup:

As usual with Ceramics, when you want to have "real life" sized objects, the cost is quite high, so I am not sure I will buy two of them soon. But I'd like to try as soon as my finances allow me to do so...

Following the printing of the Ceramics DodBox, I wanted to do a smaller (and more affordable) version of this box, and find a way to stack several of them proprerly and also have the bottom glazed.
I decided to go for the half of a regular dodecahedron (not rounded) with some "legs".
Here is the result, the Mini Ceramics Dodbox:

I hope the legs will support the weight of the box itself.
What do you think?
I am also considering modfying the Ceramics DodBox v2 (a rounded version) to add this kind of legs...
So many things to design, so little time...

Hi all,
Well after getting to grips with Blender, I initially tried a cup and a dish of sorts... then got to thinking a little outside the box... and ended up with this: http://shpws.me/a0V7
Based on a fictional artefact from an obscure alien movie franchise
I thought it would be ideal for ceramics at approx. 10cm (4in) tall. The inscription is purposefully shallow to allow any glazing to show it up as barely there...
Not sure how it would turn out... thoughts?
Regards,
Steven

P.S I am planning to convert one of my current iPhone cases to an iPod touch case, would anyone know how to do this without completely starting from scratch, maybe somehow 'moulding' the iphone case the the curved geometry if the ipod touches using some software? Thanks again

My new work is about "the 4 elements": Fire, Air, Earth, and Water. In classical Greek science and medicine, the Four Elements are the basic constituents of all matter. Everything in the universe is composed of the Four Elements, in varying proportions and amounts.
I have thought to shape the 4 elements into rings. One of this is now in production and I can't wait for seeing it.
Waiting for, here are 42 seconds of a video presentation.

Hi all,
A long time ago, I designed the DodBox (see also this thread).
I wanted to do something similar for Ceramics for a long time. The new colors for ceramics have been the right opportunity to do it now.
So here it is, the DodBox in Ceramics:

This is a rounded version, also inspired by the Truncated Sphere D12.
It is quite thick so the box can (hopefully) be closed, and as the original one, it is stackable (more renders on the product page).
I am curious to see how it works, and I'd like to mix the colors...
So many things to design, so little time...

Hey guys, what do you make of this?
[Flextest] Pop-up Jewellery Display & Case Bangle

I have no idea if it will work or how well it would work, but I figured it wouldn't hurt if I prototyped it up and entered it
"Designed for the Shapeways 3D Print Flex-Contest, this item comes in two parts - a bangle "case" and a jewellery display. They are printed together but are detachable.
The bangle has an internal diameter of 65mm to fit small wrists like mine, and features a flower shape with four "petals" and a central "style" with "stigma" stopper on the end. The petals have circular loops on the end to squeeze the "stigma" through, holding the flower closed.
The large criss-cross patterned stand or jewellery display is built with hooked earrings in mind, but can potentially also be used to hold cufflinks, and possibly bangles, bracelets and necklaces.
It may not be suitable for heavy jewellery, but has not yet been tested.
The idea is that when not in use, the display can be squished up small enough to fit into the closed flower on the bangle.
For use in the home and also out at craft fairs and car boot sales."
Enjoys spending 98 hours a week learning, making and designing stuff. The picture of me as a kid is... pretty much what you're dealing with.
