I have always been enthusiastic about astronauts, rockets and space travel. I like to watch stars at night, read about galaxies, planets and space exploration. Being able to print this rocket cup and have it at home, see its awesome rocket-like shape on my desk, and drink from it, is like a dream come true Very Happy

If you are like me, or you just like the futuristic and aerodynamic shape of this cup, you can order it from my shapeways shop.

This cup fits 5 oz / 150 ml of your favourite drink and it's made of glazed ceramics. A fitting lid complements the rocket-y shape and helps keep your drink warm (and protected from that dangerous space radiation!). The cup and lid are separate models and they can be ordered separately, in the same or different colours!

I have just received a 3D print of my design of the Centre Point tower (which stands at the eastern end of Oxford Street in central London). The model has been printed in White, Strong and Flexible. There is a lot of very fine detail (0.3 and 0.4mm) which allows the model to be printed in this scale. This includes the words ' CENTRE POINT' at the top of the front and rear elevations of the tower.

The model can be viewed in my shop:

Eagle mask, worn by performer Erika Bansen

I designed a series of masks for my Hoop Troops (the ThreeForm promotional performance group) to wear at Maker Faire, and they were unexpectededly popular. I had literally hundreds of people ask us where they could buy them. The ones I had brought were very thick and printed by an extrusion based printer, so they were too costly for Shapeways. Luckily I've thinned them down and made them available in the more appropriate flexible nylon material. They are available singly, as well as in multi-packs. Great for parties! There is still time left to order some for Halloween!

The three designs created so far are:

The Venetian Maskhttp://40westdesigns.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/674x501_731449_599946_1349829857.jpg

You can buy all three at once: ThreeForm Masks - All Three Designs, or in a number of size ranges also available at the ThreeForm Shapeways Shop.

Hi Shapeways fans,

Geared Hex is a hexagonal version of Bram's Cube. The hexagonal part turns similar to a Rubik's Cheese or a Rubik's UFO puzzle. The top and bottom layers are connected by a set of gears at the middle layer. The gears are split in half, which allows even more scrambling.

Twelve double hearts geometrically positioned. The idea to arrange the hearts like such, came after several other unsatisfactory variants. The double heart is based on a cuff-link i'm working on.

The night before this piece came into existence, i was working on the same design, which amused me much, but sadly was unprintable. So i remade it the night after. Gold looks good on it, very pleased with that. Shapeways delivered fast, i'd say at least a week before i expected the items, so thanks for that.

A unique ball jointed doll, with a phoenix bird fantasy theme to her That I have designed, modeled, and put together. All parts 3d printed except for some clear beading cord, and a metal figure * hook for the head.

Here's Wiki's Def on Ball jointed dolls:

Quote:

A ball-jointed doll is any doll that is articulated with ball and socket joints. In contemporary usage when referring to modern dolls, and particularly when using the acronyms BJD or ABJD, it usually refers to modern Asian ball-jointed dolls.[1] These are cast in polyurethane synthetic resin, a hard, dense plastic, (although more companies are coming out with different casting materials) and the parts strung together with a thick elastic. They are predominantly produced in Japan, South Korea and China. The BJD style has been described as both realistic and influenced by anime.[2][3][4] They commonly range in size from about 60-70 centimetres (24-28 in) for the larger dolls, 40 cm (16 in) for the mini dolls, and all the way down to 10 cm (4 in) or so for the tiniest of the tiny BJDs. BJDs are primarily intended for adult collectors and customizers. They are made to be easy to customize, by painting, changing the eyes and wig, and so forth.

The modern BJD market began with Volks line of Super Dollfie in 1999. Super Dollfie and Dollfie are registered trademarks but are sometimes erroneously used as generic blanket terms to refer to all Asian BJDs regardless of manufacturer.

Hi Shapeways fans,

Slice 7x7x7 is a variation to the Rubik's Cube, in which layer 1 is rigidly connected to layer 7, 2 to 6, and 3 to 5. The opposite-layer connection is there in all three directions. The result is a puzzle that only makes nice symmetrical patterns, no matter how you scramble it.

The creation of this puzzle was triggered by email communication with Nersés Aramian. He suggested to build a puzzle based on the projective plane, i.e. pairs of pieces opposite from the origin always remain opposite. Slice 7x7x7 satisfies Nersés' requirement, although this puzzle may not be what he had in mind.

Watch the YouTube video.

I always wanted to create a bicycle model in HO scale. There wasn't any scale model of the old Swiss military bike.
Most of the bikes available at this scale are etched out of a thin sheet of brass and have to be folded in shape. They are quite difficult to build. The 3D printed model only has to be painted, since the "assembling" already happened in the printer !
This model was quite tricky to create, because I had to thicken a lot of features while keeping the resulting model recognizable.

After playing around with the (Cage Edit Tool in Rhino), I was able to morph the straignt lines to create some ripples. What started as a simple opening, resulted in the 3D optical illusion. This feature is the only modified aspect of this phone case, while the rest of the architecture remains the same as the one of my earlier cases. Such designs offers a perfect fit for your phone, which I have tested for several months.

Hey shapies,

I just wanted to submit a lovely design by a friend of mine which I received printed in Gold Plated Glossy some time ago. It is absolutely worth mentioning (and purchasing) because of its ability to captivate everybody who holds it.
(Or even sees it? Your reaction will be the answer. )

I don't know if you are still looking for mathematical art? This would definitely belong to this section as it wasn't created with a usual modeling application.

The photograph attached was done by me as I was so enthusiastic about the design that turned out great in Gold Plated Glossy. Unfortunately my friend didn't find the time to upload the photographs, but that has no impact on the design's beauty Smile
Do you also recognise rings, pentagons, stars, flowers, Adobe signs... that captivate you?

index.php?t=getfile&id=18927&private=0
diameter of around 5cm = 2in.

I would be delighted if it was featured.

Marie

After successfully printing a Konoid I realized I just tapped into a very interesting new (for me) area of extremely simple and amazing mechanisms.

One can argue that a mechanism must have at least two parts, and a roller by definition has just one - itself.

Nevertheless, there is a second part to the whole picture - the surface it's rolling on.

And the idea is to always keep the center of gravity at the same distance from the surface no matter what position the roller is.

Sphericon is the best theoretical source for these rollers, so I decided to pay it a tribute and produce a 'see through' version of it.

This is how OctoRoller Classic came to life:

This picture is a cross-eye stereopair.

It printed well in polished bronze.

It rolls great and produces the AWE effect very well.

I am sure it'll look and roll great in other materials.

I made it available in five sizes - Check out my shop, GeoMachine

Get one and get amazed!

Hello. This is my first object I have ever made for 3d printing. I would love to get it featured. It's a silver pendant with a raccoon sculpture hanging onto a ring.

I made this as a valentines gift for my girlfriend. I choose a raccoon for sentimental reasons, and I have made many different attempts at getting the right shape before settling on this one. I didn't initially want to make a realistic sculpture out of fear that it would look kitsch, but I think it turned out great in the end.

Link to the product page.

I really hope you guys like my model.

Here are the rings of the series "The 4 elements". The idea of giving shape to the 4 basic elements of all matter had long been in my mind. First I thought to a common shape, and then I gave them their own personalities. I was always fascinated by their meaning:

Fire : passion, energy, impulse inspiration, idealism, faith
Air : mental processes, intellect, human communication and social relationships
Water : Emotion, psychism, mysticism, intuition
Earth : practicality, stability, materialism, realism
