It is a platform developed to ease their service on uploads. Internal only.
You can use http://www.netfabb.com/netfabb_private.php private or professional http://www.netfabb.com/professional.php

And if you only need to do only UNION BOOLEAN operations and general fix then you can use the free https://netfabb.azurewebsites.net/ microsoft service based on same software.

Magics does not provide any info about the price of it http://software.materialise.com/request-download-link-magics -18-32-bit like you see here and the more complete http://software.materialise.com/3-maticSTL and looks like locked to Windows platform.

Netfabb it is the backbone of Shapeways and Microsoft partner for 3D printing cloud , it is able to do boolean operations and general 3d printing preparation fix remesh etc and has some scripts automated for that. (And it is available on MAC/LINUX/WINDOWS)

Here complete list of features http://www.netfabb.com/userfiles/pdf/professional/new_featur es_in_netfabb_professional_5.pdf

If the plan it is to use Shapeways service then Netfabb it is the way to go to prepare the .stl files.

On the images you show, it looks like a wide track. If I understand you right so you want this train set in HO scale and the 16.5mm track width?
Do you have images whit something reference.

Will I get some $ for the CAD work?
I have done work from images and it are hard to get it exact right, so I you have drawings of the train it would be nice.

I think I can make the CAD of it.

I do not have a 3D printer, can you not 3D print it on Shapeways?
That you have drawings very good!

I are sorry but I can not make CAD files for free.

I play this video game with my friends and we have designed characters, all 3d etc.

I was wondering if you would be able to make custom made figures/statues if I were to give a bunch of screenshots, proportions, height angles etc. I was looking to surprise my friends with a figure each of their characters we all play for a Christmas present (I know a bit early but that's okay) and I finally stumbled upon this place. Would you be able to do all the detailing, and scaling to match the screenshots as some of the 6 are shorter than others and whatnot but still be proportionate? the figures of course would be no larger than 7 inches in height but it would be fantastic if you would be able to do this.

I could definitely help if given a sample and then I can direct what I'd envision and everything, but other than that, I honestly have no clue where to start. I was directed to these forums by Adrian Rivera who has been super kind and wonderful to direct me this way.

If you would be able to help me out that would be absolutely fantastic! I really have no experience at 3d modeling and I only found out recently that this was an actual thing people can design.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to be working with someone!

obviously it would spoil the surprise but if you could get some one to 3d scan your friends heads you could have someone create a very realistic action figure look to the project, that said just get their whole body scanned in costume and save yourself a fortune on design time!!!! i wouldnt expect to pay more than £50 per figure if going down the full 3d scanning route.
