I need some help knowing how to build the pendant so I can mount a Sapphire in it. My current build can be seen here.

I think that a small sapphire like this should fit nicely using a Burnish or Bezel setting. From what I read on Wikipedia, I don't think I would need to make any changes to the pendant in order for one of the settings to work. What do you think? Is there any changes you would recommend I make to better prepare the pendant for a stone?

When all is said and done I'm hoping it turns out something like this:

Heres bigger version with 15cm wide, this version was very expensive to be printed in white strong and flexible so i made a shorter version.

Galo de Barcelos-Story

he legend of the Rooster of Barcelos[1] tells the story of a dead rooster's miraculous intervention in proving the innocence of a man who had been falsely accused and sentenced to death. The story is associated with the 17th-century calvary that is part of the collection of the Archeological Museum located in Paço dos Condes, a gothic-style palace in Barcelos, a city in the Braga District of northwest Portugal.

I'm designing a specialized keyfob, but it requires a slot for iButton insertion from a specific direction so as to not add sheer or wear to a certain part of it.

I am kind of at a loss as to how to design the slide feature to hold the iButton on.

The idea is, the iButton needs to be removable incase of chipset failure without making the entire composition useless as was the problem with just fusing the iButton to the entire fixture.

Here's a design I created over the weekend. I am having it printed in sandstone. It will be my first 3D print in color, so I can hardly wait to see the result.

index.php?t=getfile&id=48058&private=0

So, what is it?

In an attempt to create a bit of excitement and mystery, I will not reveal what it is yet. Feel free to guess though. All I will say is that there are three reasons why it is called "PM Cubed". So that's basically three hints. What more could you ask for? ;-)

Cheers,
Erwin

Hello Shapers!

I had a first go on a spare part for my kitchen hood. (siemens lc89950)
Sure i can order this piece, but it's €40,- (because you get the whole module)

Anyways.

Was hoping if anyone could take a look at it and maybe give me some pointers.

https://www.shapeways.com/model/1574216/hood-switch-siemens- lc89950.html
(it's downloadable)

My biggest concern is the curved part, since it will need to be flexible enough to bend, in order to press either Plus or Minus.

Cheers,
Troostheide

ps: if you really want to get into it, here's the link to the exploded view of the hood.

Hi everyone, this is my first post on these forums.

The model in question is a full color sandstone skull of a demonic imp. I already checked it in netfabb, and as far as i am aware no geometry goes below 2.7mm, and even then it's a relatively small area on the back of head. Let me know what you think and wether or not you like it. Although the model is available for purchase, it will be some time before I can order a test print, since I am currently on a tight budget.

Hope you like it:

Anyone have experience pushing the ceramic design guidelines a little...
My wall thickness stands around 3-4mm; but the text / font embossing/engraving is between 1.5 - 3 mm. Overall height is 3" for the 44mag and 4" for the AK47. Also, anyone have a good link to explain density? Is it simply based on the bounding box? I uploaded one model that I thought would be a cheaper version with more engraving, and it turned out to be more expensive??? Thx.

The capabilities of the FUD process isn't capable of making the part I need. Free standing wires require a much greater cross section than I can tolerate. The part was intended as a master to build an RTV silicone mold as an alternative to machining one in brass. To get around the limits of the FUD process I designed some mold boxes that will enable me to build the mold directly, bypassing the intermediate master step. The mold boxes are considerably more expensive than the final product when built in a 3D process, but it's still a lot easier than machining brass.

I'm not so concerned about the dimensions of the final part, but I am concerned about the fit of the two mating surfaces of the mold. A poor fit results in a lot of flash that has to be trimmed away. Does anyone have experience with such an approach?

Working on my next horse sculpture; this one will be printed multiple times, painted by me a bunch of different colors, and sold to benefit Mustang rescue groups out west as they fight against the BLM, to preserve the wild herds that are truly the vanishing spirit of America and its heritage.

Still a long way to go but getting there!!

Check out this beautiful leaf bracelet to remind you of the best time of the year; every leaf on the bracelet is twisted and turned to give the sense that they are falling.

This is a lovely bracelet that is perfect for any time or day!
My inspiration for this is nature; I love the patterns in nature and how much of an impact in can give on people.

Got some question (silver material , polished , premium) :

1 - If I`m making detail on bugs that are not 0.5 mm will and some parts are 0.5 then 0.3 then 0.2 etc ? Will show only 0.3-0.5 , I ask this because I want to sculpt some detail on the ladybugs : the black spots

2 - Does the boolean part give problem on the image with the loop ?!

3. - If 1 is a problem then I leave the design like in the measurement picture with thickness.

I`ll love to make that spots Sad

Thank you in advance!

Hello,

I've uploaded my first model:
https://www.shapeways.com/model/1365056/nila-eschge-case-lt- 3.html

I was hoping to get some feedback before printing it. I already sent it to service@shapeways, but I guess at this stage I'd really wish for all the help I can get. Smile

I've attached the repaired .stl file (repaired with netfabb), but I really have no idea whether the fine pattern and the overlapping bevel on the heart shape would actually print well. Either way I really doubt it will polish well with the small holes etc. If anyone with experience could take a look, I'd be really grateful!

Thanks in advance.

I was suggested to turn many of my 1/87 scale crates into 28mm War Gaming pieces.

Pieces like this, http://shpws.me/oNSC The EXO-Loader. It's been scaled up and now stands 42mm high.

Or this, http://shpws.me/oVUY Storage Case / Weapons Case. Great piece for any battlefield of cargo bay.

Or this, http://shpws.me/oVUZ K Rail / Traffic Control Barrier. Great for urban combat zones.

Plus a few other items. Have a look at what I have. tell me what you all think. Make suggestions and all

Hey guys

Just wanted to show you my designs for the "Graft Concepts" contest.
I made three models:

Metric ruler:
index.php?t=getfile&id=35356&private=0

Inches ruler:
index.php?t=getfile&id=35357&private=0

And a puzzle game for those "No battery" situations...
index.php?t=getfile&id=35358&private=0
index.php?t=getfile&id=35359&private=0

I have a few days to remodel them so if you have any suggestions just shout here (and if you like them you can just shout "5 stars" in the model page)

Thanks

BA
