I want to grow a part that will be investment cast in silver but I would like use grown part at the investment master (no wax intermediate cast) but not sure which shapeways material will burn out best.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully someone will chime-in with an answer.

  3. I know that styrenic materials burn out well, but can leave carbon behind. In steel casting, this is a problem, because the carbon can change the alloy properties. No idea about silver though.

Can you model it in wax in the first place?

It is best to talk to the foundry you intend using. They will have a much better idea of what is likely to work and what isn't.
