I have been looking at 3D printing for a while (Im actually quite excited) with a few work generated ideas. I work for a fencing/security company and we specialise in automated gates. I have been tossing around the idea of making working models of different types of gates both swing and slide.
I use Sketchup - free version and dont have much experience in other software.
Can be done.. on this model http://shpws.me/ZWn the rear wheels and the blade can swivel. To do it, there is a 1mm axle on each with only 0.1mm clearance around it.
