Why does getting silver polished cost $10, but gold only $3?

Silver polishing is a a true hand polish. The result almost jewellery grade quality.

Gold polishing is a mechanical tumble before and after the gold coating. Looks great, but no jewellery quality.

The manual aspect of the silver polishing is costly.
