Cleaning Detail (particularly Transparent)

Discussion in 'Finishing Techniques' started by Drawn_Steel_Hero, Mar 16, 2011.

  1. I've only worked with one Transparent Detail model before, and I have another on the way. I found on the one I've already had that there was uncured material still in some of the recesses, and in some cases still on the surface of the model, which had a slightly rubbery texture.

Most of this was easy to poke out with a soldering probe, and scrub off with a stiff paintbrush, but there was still a little residue left that's much harder to completely shift. Does anyone know of a method to properly clean it?

Soap and water, for one of mine I also used a wet abrasive surface to get a clean polished look out of it.

  3. Thanks, Mike! I'll try that when I get my new order through (hopefully soon... :D)...
