I recently printed an item that was almost as good as it gets, except for the support edges. What worked phenomenally for me was one of those yellow rectangular nail files. Had the right soft grit for the job and i highly recommend for everyone. Acrylic paint was the icing. The acrylate was very porous and soaked it up very well. I topped it off with a sweeping coat of polymer spray. Perfect!
I'm interested in when you say "very porous"... I design dice and am looking for a material that you can ink the numbers on the faces without ink running or bleeding. Your description of it as porous gives me worry. Will Acrylate not be able to accept writing without bleeding? Thanks.
I have no idea. Ive done one print, and it accepted the paint very well. Ive never done writing or dots before. Trial and error..
In my first test, I used Revell enamel and Revell aqua acrylic on a thin (0.7 mm) sheet of HDA. Both adhere well, and show no signs of bleeding.
