A current major traffic source comes from Boing Boing, Duann has been spreading some magic again 
To answer your question, it depends a bit :
For printed and well-photographed models, I see an average conversion rate of 1%. (so every one in hunderd visitors to the model page, actually buys)
But for my untested designs it's more like 0.001%.

but i sell eacht time i'm on an event more and more!
so start printing all your stuff and go to events
