Hi there, my name is Dave. I am an Englishman living in Bandung, Indonesia.
I have been using CAD professionally for like 30 years. I started in 1983 on a system called Anvil, when I worked for British Aerospace. I started contracting in 1990. Worked in Manchester, Scotland, N.Ireland. I then switched to the car industry. Worked in Sweden 4 times, Germany 3, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia 4, Detroit USA, China and now working from home in Bandung.
I have come to Shapeways because my current job, an electric vehicle, is winding down and I will have some free time for more projects. As an engineer, I can turn my hand to anything, and I am looking forward to see what challenges will come up here, if anyone wants to give me a try.
My main hobby these days is fishing lure design. As well as my own projects, I pick up some work from forum members (tackleunderground.com), designing lures for CNC molds.
I consider myself an amateur inventor, which means I have a lot of good ideas but have never made a cent. I am sure I will come up with an idea to rock the green world one day, in my dreams. Actually all my best ideas come in my sleep.
I am a mean pool player and enjoy bug photography, so Bandung is a good place for both of these hobbies.
