Pretty cool. It could probably be adapted to work with a different power source that a big spring. Maybe by a small flow of dripping water or compressed air. Of course it wouldn't be portable then but would make an interesting display piece.

    The Truth:
I just watched the video 1x

The watch, all things go round,- don´t know if there would be just a pendulum weight possible instead of a spring.
...Anyway... except axis & screws, everything is 3D printed.
Possibly 3D printable SLS Nylon/Polyamide on Shapeways?
Add an alarm to make an egg timer? ;-)

Yeah I saw that, pretty cool!

I'd like to design one that is completely functional right out of a SLS printer. Something about making a machine with numerous mechanical parts that works right out of a printer without doing any assembly is super fascinating to me for some strange reason! :D

Shapeways ought to have a contest to see who can come up with a design that can keep accurate time the longest while having the least amount of material. :D
