encapsulating in cast acrylic

    No, I have never tried it, however, I know of two critical pieces of equipment that are needed for perfect results. One is a vacuum degassing chamber and the other is a pressure chamber. The vacuum chamber is used on the resin after it is mixed to cause entrapped air bubbles to expand so vigorously that they immediately float to the surface and burst. The pressure chamber is used to compress any air bubbles that should be trapped during the process of pouring the resin on the part that will be encapsulated.
