Could you be a bit more specific regarding the brand name and/or chemical type of varnish you use ? (I think polyurethane-based varnishes have been recommended here in the past.) Also did you try spraying instead of brushing (might be easier for shapeways to implement, if they were to offer improved finishes some day)

I am sorry for late reply.

I used "Super clear" of IPP(made in Korea) in video tutorial.
But you can use any kind of of lacquer.
The most impotant thing is ratio of lacquers.

If you want to use products of IPP at any cost, you might demand on website.
    gloss coat: http://eng.ippmall.co.kr/bbs/board.php?bo_table=product& wr_id=183&sca=Clear+and+Spacer
    matte coat: http://eng.ippmall.co.kr/bbs/board.php?bo_table=product& wr_id=183&sca=Clear+and+Spacer
    leveling thinner: http://eng.ippmall.co.kr/bbs/board.php?bo_table=product& wr_id=290&sca=Plastic+Model+Thinner&page=1

Spray works need to add more thinner, thereby it is not good to bridge over the chasm of layers.
    I recommend you "Brushing"!

I 'd prefer this combination of varnish to polyurethane-based varnishes nowadays. :)
