Is Elasto Plastic a durable material for outdoors use?

  1. We are making a prototype product that should be able to withstand rain, sun and salt (near the ocean) for many years. Does anyone have experience with this?

One more question: can it be painted or printed black?

I know it's a material that tends to get a bit brittle over time. The plasticizer gets lost over time, making it a bit more hard and brittle. I don't think it would last very long. It's a material that's still being developed for what I've understand of it!

Also extended UV (sunlight) exposure might have a negative effect. Painting might solve this though, given you use the right kind of paint.
