Exporting WRL file, lose my red color pallet

  1. I'm using cinema 4d to create my model. I've finished working and exported to wrl file format for color printing. I get the correct shades of black white and grey as well as bits of yellow and brown, but the red colors (pure red as well as #ff007e) both turn white when the file is output. Is there anything I can do about this?

Check that the face normals point outward and that you have painted the correct (outside) surface of your model. Also, any transparency in the vrml material definition will be respected by the shapeways viewer (though obviously not the printer) which can create surprising visual effects.
WRL files are (somewhat) readable text, so you could check that your reds actually ended up in the output file. (Or use a vrml/x3d viewer such as view3dscene). If none of this helps, consider uploading a simple test case here.
