An automatized Valentine's Day Ring... and Pacman!

Hi there

A while ago I designed a Batman ring for my girlfriend. I then had the idea that one could automatize the design process for "flat rings". Taking a black and white picture and turning it into a ring. And when you are there you can as well create all ring sizes at the same time.

So I put together some lines of code and a few weeks later I received my first creations.

Maybe this example makes it a bit clearer. This image:

was turned into a Valentine's day present:


And poor Pacman:

gets chased around for real:


I know it's a bit boring working only in 2D when you have a whole other dimension available. But I think you can tell some pretty nice stories even in flat land.

I'm really curious about your feedback and I'm always open to creative input!

Right now I'm working in MatLab. But maybe I'll make a Python version soon!
