In my opinion, you need to improve your photography. I like your model and your idea but your photograph lowers the total impression. There are lots of tutorials online that may help, also, you can read this and this one on the Shapeways blog. Did you create this by using the SolidDots iPhone app?
Thanks I know the photo doesn't do justice, kind of did it in a rush last night with my iphone. No I used blender and did it manually block (pixel) by block with many shades of white/grey/black. I'm sure there's a quicker way.
