Help with Snap Pins

  1. Hello everyone,

I'm new to Shapeways and relatively new to 3D printing. I need some help designing a snap in pin. I am unsure of the amount of flex and strength the Strong & Flexible Plastic has (specifically the colored ones). I am wondering how small it is possible to print one of these and still be functional, what kind of thickness and dimension relations you need to get it to work properly, and any tips that you may have.

Just as some clarification, I'm looking to make pins similar to those on the Nautilus gear connecting plates shown here:
    here and here.

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Hello there, I was looking for challenge :p so I made this... I no engineer but for I'm pretty sure my design will do the trick (I modelized it myself). We have to know what's your precise dimension for the shaft and the thickness of the spinning wheel. If you give me more details I will check what I can do for you. Best regards.

  3. Doyz's design should work, just make sure you don't drop below 1 mm thickness on the clips.
