2d to 3d image help

Discussion in 'Software and Applications' started by 625790_deleted, Sep 16, 2014.

  1. Looking to translate a 2d image into 3d, but not sure how. Really just looking to add depth to keep the 8-bit look. I know how to add thickness to an image like this if it were a solid color, but not how to add thickness and keep the image. Does that make sense? Basically having this image four or five cm thick with a black border and the same image in reverse on the back. Any suggestions?

    What program are you using?

I made this by simply creating several cubes and apply different material with color i want in that "cube". [IMG]
And combine it all into one model at the end.

Or you can create UV map to match you picture. If you are using blender, look for "project from view" option in uv unwrapping.

  3. That is extremely helpful and I'll have to try it with blocks. Thanks!
