My Mom asked me to design her a horse pendant..and as she's getting married this summer I thought I would try to make her something that reflected the spirit of this new chapter in her life. I was inspired by ancient Chinese sculptures, in particular Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow I wanted to capture the sense of movement and vitality of the ancient sculpture in my design. The horse is pretty small, only 3cm long. The subtle variation in color of the raw bronze is beautiful and the slight texture on the surface almost makes it seem as though the horse has been perspiring after a long gallop.
