hi, I am new to shapeways, I wanted to ask if anyone knows how critical is the thin walls warning. it still lets me go ahead and buy it, can I ignore it? anyone has an idea if it might come out okay? thanks... noa
The thin wall checker is just a tool. It does not reject a model. It only looks for things that are smaller than the required wall thickness, so details will be highlighted. A manual check will be performed before printing to see if it actually follows the rules.
If you can show us the areas in question we can give you an idea of what will happen when you try to print.
You can print anything if you select "print anyway" option: if a wall is too thin, it could eventually break in your hands. But it is the only way I know to print sharp edges, usually marked as "too thin for printing".
