Printing a full color Revit 3D model with texture

  1. I would like to print my 3D model I made in Revit with a full color 3D Printer.
The only problem seems to be the extension. I tried to convert it to vrml (.wrl) or .3ds
In both situations the texture of the model isn't translated to that new file type.

Does someone have experiences with printing Revit models in full color with textures?
Or are there other ways to convert the model?
Or even other ways to print it full color with texture?

    Thanks!

Exporting to wrl should store the texture as a separate jpg or png file that is referenced by an ImageTexture entry in the (readable) .wrl file. You would then have to create a zip file from the two for uploading. If the color scheme is sufficiently simple, an alternative solution might be to use "vertex painting", i.e. assigning color values to all the vertices of the model. If revit does not offer such an option, you could try painting it in meshlab.
