    Hello!

I was drawn to Shapeways by a need to print mounting threads based on the Royal Microscopical Society Standards. The ability to manufacture my ideas with high fidelity via 3D printing has definitely fed into my ideas and designs. I work mainly in OpenSCAD and Inkscape, which gives me a lot of flexibility. Here are some projects I have been working on:

Screw on lens caps. They stay on more securely than squeeze-style caps, and they can be customized with embossed text or images

Lens hoods that screw into filter threads. The angle of the hood can be optimized based on a given lens' focal length.

Lieberkühn reflectors. These reflect and focus light onto opaque subjects for macrophotography. They were an old standby in the age of brass science instruments. These too can be modified depending on the desired focal length. These are a work in progress.
